I took the vial from him and washed down the contents in one gulp, as per his instructions. “Yes… yes! I have waited for this moment for so long! It seems like just yesterday that I started working with you on this project,” I replied eagerly, carefully storing away the second vial in my pocket.

He nodded again and smiled at me with his typical sly look of triumph and satisfaction at his accomplishment, “It has been quite some time indeed… yet I am glad that we can finally move on to the next stage of our research after all these years of painstaking effort! I was about to ask him what exactly he meant by that last sentence when he suddenly turned towards me and said softly in a serious voice, “But be assured that everything will be taken care of once we attain our goal. Your current situation will undoubtedly change drastically for the better once we succeed… or at least you will think so if my predictions are correct. And even if they are not, at least you should find my assistance useful then as well.”

I looked at him blankly for a few moments, unable to understand what he meant by those cryptic words spoken in that tone of voice filled with such hidden meaning behind them… But then I soon realized that he had no intention of explaining anything further to me just yet, even though the answer lay clearly within those enigmatic words alone… And so I decided not to press him any further on this subject now when we were finally going to make our move together after all these years spent working side by side on this project! For now I would simply have to wait until he deemed it fit for me to know more about it!
