The golden hand that had rested in the sand for thousands of years was finally unearthed.

The ancient relic was propped on the table, radiating a glow that seemed to emanate from the palm itself. For some reason, the light seemed to be calling to Seti. It was a familiar pull, one he couldn’t ignore.

Seti could feel his heart thumping as he reached out and touched it. The moment his fingers made contact with the object, he felt a jolt of energy surge through him. His heart rate increased and the space around him felt like it was crumbling into pieces. He closed his eyes, trying to make sense of what was happening to him, when suddenly, he felt a soft hand on his shoulder.

“Seti, are you alright?” he heard a familiar voice say. He opened his eyes and saw Asha smiling at him. It was as if nothing had happened.

“Asha! What happened?!” he exclaimed, clutching his chest.

“You had a panic attack, I think. Are you feeling better now?”

He stared at the relic in front of him. It was still glowing. Without thinking about it, he grabbed it.

"Seti, no!" Asha screamed. She lunged at him and tried to grab the object from his hands, but she was too late.

*Blink*

In an instant, they were standing in the middle of the desert. The sun was blazing overhead, making everything look hazy. Asha’s hair was ruffled and her clothes were wrinkled and dusty. The air was hot and dry. They were surrounded by sand dunes with not a single soul in sight.

"What...where...?" Asha muttered.

She looked up at Seti and scowled. He knew she was angry with him. She wasn’t angry that they had appeared in the hot desert, but rather because he had touched the relic.

“How did you do that?” she asked.

“I didn’t do anything,” he replied. “I just touched the relic. It started glowing and then...”

He trailed off. He was already regretting touching the relic. If he had known that's how it would work, he would have avoided it like the plague.

“Do you want to go back?” she asked. He nodded, and she extended her hand to him. “Hold my hand tight and close your eyes.”

He did as she said, and he felt the world shift once more. When he opened his eyes again, they were back in their shared apartment.

“Are you okay?” she asked. “You need to rest. Those panic attacks can be very dangerous.”

He nodded. He went to the kitchen and grabbed a glass of water to drink. As Asha was leaving, she turned and faced him.

“You know, I know why you had a panic attack. I know why the relic was glowing.”

He looked at her, confused by her words.

“I know why you touched it.”

“Then why didn’t you try to stop me?” he replied curtly.

“Because I knew you needed to touch it.”

He watched her leave, bewildered.
