Thiro stared at the peculiar man for several moments, attempting to comprehend the bizarre situation he had found himself in. The man's elegant golden robe and silver jewelry were as out of place in their small village as the eerie tone of concern in his voice. Unable to shake off the bewilderment, Thiro finally managed to speak.

"Who are you?" he asked hesitantly, still unsure if this was just another layer of his peculiar nightmare or a genuine encounter.

"My name is Anouvong," the man replied gently, his voice comforting despite its mysterious quality. "I'm a healer, and I have traveled far to find your mother. I've heard about her condition and believe I can offer some assistance."

Thiro looked back at his home and considered the implications of this stranger's offer. On the one hand, his mother had suffered for far too long with her illness, and more than anything, he wanted her to be well again. Conversely, trusting their wellbeing to a complete stranger whose appearance and demeanor exuded an air of surreality went against every ounce of caution that had been ingrained in him since childhood.

Taking a deep breath, Thiro made a decision. "Alright," he said slowly, "but first, I must speak with my mother about this. Please, wait here." He turned back towards the house and hurried inside, his heart pounding with apprehension and hope.

Upon entering, he found his mother still absorbed in her papers, seemingly oblivious to the world outside her immediate surroundings. Thiro knelt beside her hammock, looking into her eyes and said, "Mother, there's someone outside who claims to be a healer. He says he can help you." He paused, anxiously searching her face for a reaction. "What should we do?"

Omi looked thoughtfully at her son, her gaze considering both his words and the desperation she saw behind them. Slowly, she spoke. "If there is even a chance of improvement, Thiro, I believe we should at least hear what this healer has to say."

Encouraged by his mother's determination, Thiro nodded in agreement. Together, they made their way outside to meet with the enigmatic Anouvong. The storm clouds overhead continued to blanket the sky, threatening rain once more as they began their journey towards the uncertain future that awaited them.
