Bruce Banner stood in the center of the battlefield, his eyes fixed on Thanos as the Mad Titan closed in. The other Avengers fought valiantly around him, but it was clear that they were no match for their powerful foe.

"We need to get those Stones away from him," Steve Rogers said, landing a solid punch on Thanos's jaw.

Banner nodded, his mind racing. They had to find a way to use the Infinity Stones against Thanos, but who could wield such power? Tony Stark was out of commission, and Thor was already weakened from their previous battles.

Then it hit him. He was the only one who could do it. His unique combination of brains and brawn made him the perfect candidate.

"Steve, I have an idea," he said, his voice filled with determination.

Rogers turned to face him, his brow furrowed in concern. "What is it?"

"I can use the Stones," Banner said. "I'm the only one who can handle that much power."

Rogers shook his head. "Bruce, you don't know what that will do to you."

"I do," Banner insisted. "And I'm willing to make that sacrifice."

Before Rogers could argue further, Banner transformed into the Hulk, leaping towards Thanos with a roar. The other Avengers watched in awe as he grappled with their enemy, buying them precious time.

As Hulk fought with Thanos, Banner's mind raced. He knew what he had to do, but he also knew that it would come at a great cost. Using the Infinity Stones would likely kill him, but if it meant saving the universe and his friends...it was a risk he was willing to take.

Finally, Hulk managed to knock Thanos off balance long enough for Iron Man to swoop in and grab the Infinity Gauntlet. He handed it off to Banner before returning to join the fight.

Banner looked down at the Gauntlet, his heart pounding in his chest. This was it. He took a deep breath, bracing himself for what was to come, and then he slipped the Gauntlet onto his massive green hand.

Instantly, he felt a surge of power unlike anything he had ever experienced. It coursed through his veins, threatening to overwhelm him. But he fought to keep control, focusing on the task at hand.

With a roar, Hulk unleashed the full power of the Infinity Stones. A blinding light filled the battlefield as their energy consumed him. The other Avengers shielded their eyes, unable to look away as their friend made the ultimate sacrifice.

Then, just as suddenly as it had begun, it was over. The light faded, and Hulk collapsed to the ground, reverting back into Bruce Banner's limp form.

The Avengers rushed to his side, their faces filled with concern. Thor knelt down next to him and placed a hand on his chest.

"He's gone," Thor said quietly.

"No," Natasha Romanoff protested. "He can't be."

Clint Barton put a hand on her shoulder, offering what little comfort he could. They were all devastated by the loss of their friend.

But there was no time to grieve. Thanos was still out there somewhere, and they had to find a way to undo what he had done.

As they regrouped and formed a plan, they couldn't help but wonder: would it be enough? And even if they managed to restore balance and bring back everyone who had been lost...could they bring Bruce Banner back too?

Only time would tell.
