The Rebellious Fight Against Evil Pharaohs
·
Published 2/2/2023Armed with courage, strength and their knowledge of Egyptian lore, a group of rebellious teenagers face off with an evil, ancient pharaoh determined to enslave the world - a pharaoh brought back to life by their own careless discovery.
The heiroglyphs carved into the walls of the tomb suddenly began to glow. Slowly, a figure emerged from the mists. Tall and thin, dark circles around its eyes, golden hair and skin that glowed as it moved.
"Who dares disturb my slumber?" asked the figure.
The kids were all silent. They knew they had been caught, but they weren't sure what to do.
"We... we've been studying ancient Egypt in school," stammered the boy who had found the tomb. "We wanted to see..."
The figure approached the boy. It seemed to be examining him with its empty eyes. Suddenly, it grabbed him by the throat. Using his other hand, the figure ripped the boy's heart out. He dropped the heart, then turned to face the others.
"You have no business here," he said, tossing the heart aside. "You seek knowledge of me, but I am forbidden from revealing myself. Your foolishness has doomed you all."
A tall girl stepped forward. "You don't have to kill us," she said. "We can help you."
The figure laughed. "I need no help from children! You are nothing to me!"
The girl looked at her friends. They nodded. She took out a small device from her pocket. "We have a relic," she said. "A scroll that was written by your mother."
The figure's gaze turned to the device. Its eyes shone brightly. "You have found the scroll?" it said. "But how? I hid it well. No one has ever found it."
The girl removed the scroll, then handed it to the figure. "It was hidden in the tomb. We used an ancient ritual to reveal the message on the wall."
The figure's face turned red. "You... you read my mother's words!" he shouted. "NO ONE READS THE WORDS OF RAHATAN BUT ME!"
The girl raised her hands. "We only read the last part," she said. "The part that told us about you. How you misunderstood your mother's message."
The figure was very still for a moment. Then he let out a loud laugh. "You mortals never cease to amaze me!" he said. "You have found a way to outsmart me! But it will not save you. I will remain trapped here until the end of time. Not even the gods can release me!"
"I know," said the girl. "That's why I'm going to help you."
The figure's eyes widened. "You would do this for me?"
"Yes," said the girl. "You just have to promise me that you'll stop killing the people who find this relic. Otherwise, I won't help you."
The figure looked at her. "You are a brave mortal. The bravest I have seen. Very well. I will spare the lives of those who find this relic, as long as you help me. I swear it upon my life."
The girl smiled. "Thank you," she said. "Now, let's get to work."
The figure nodded, then turned to the other teenagers. "You must leave now," he said. "I will call you when I need your assistance."
