Takashi was out stargazing one lazy summer evening, marveling at the beauty of the night sky. Suddenly, he noticed a bright light shooting across it and landing in a field nearby. Excited by the prospect of seeing a UFO, Takashi rushed to investigate. Reaching the site of the impact, he found a strange spacecraft from which a beautiful woman stepped out. She called herself Luna and explained that she was an alien from the moon, come to Earth seeking knowledge and experience. Takashi was stunned and couldn't believe his eyes. However, Luna was able to quick learn Takashi's language with her strange powers of mind reading. So, Takashi and Luna started conversing, exploring the area together, and becoming close friends. Through their wonderful conversations, Takashi found out that Luna was from a broken world far away from Earth and was in search of understanding and acceptance. Although Takashi was scared at first, he soon grew to understand the struggle of Luna and wished to help her in any way he could.

As the summer came to an end, Takashi and Luna grew closer and closer. Through their conversations and adventures, Takashi came to understand so much more about their wonderful universe. Luna began to teach Takashi the language of her homeland and the secret ways of her people. Takashi embraced these teachings, growing increasingly comfortable with Luna's alien culture and philosophy. Through their relationship, Takashi came to understand aspects of life that he could never have imagined before. One night as Takashi was about to leave for the night, Luna asked him if he would like to take part in a special ritual. She explained that it was a very sacred event of her people to give thanks and make a wish for the future. Although apprehensive at first, Takashi ultimately agreed to join in the ceremony which involved preparing specially prepared herbal teas from plants and setting a small flame of gratitude. Afterwards, with beauty and splendor, Luna and Takashi sang in honor of life and thanked the universe for providing them with such an incredible journey.

However, as the summer was slowly waning and winter's cold was drawing near, Luna became increasingly anxious. She slowly began to reveal to Takashi the secret of her mission on Earth – to find a way to prevent the destruction of her world. Unfortunately, Luna could not reveal her findings to the people of her home and so she used the knowledge she had acquired from her travels to create a powerful weapon of sorcery. Although initially horrified at the thought of using this kind of power, Takashi gradually came to understand the necessity of its use. Confident in the knowledge and well-being of Luna, Takashi encouraged her to take whatever steps necessary to protect her home and people. Before Takashi knew it, the winter solstice was quickly approaching and Luna had to fly away to use the weapon and save her world. As they said their final goodbye and watched the spacecraft disappear, Takashi made a silent wish that Luna's plan would succeed and her world would be safe.

Days turned into weeks and weeks passed by without a word from Luna. Takashi worried and feared the worst until he finally received a package. Inside was a glowing, crystal object that crackled with a mysterious energy. In a letter sent along with the object, Luna thanked Takashi for being with her through the entire journey and for helping her restore peace to her world. She had cast a spell to create the powerful amulet so that no matter how much time had passed or how far apart they were, Takashi and Luna would be forever connected as long as the crystal glowed. The powerful spell, the crystal amulet and their friendship connected the two of them forever. Takashi had now come to understand the importance of all of the knowledge and experience that Luna had imparted to him and he swore to keep it close to his heart and to honor their connection with equal loyalty. And thus, although Takashi and Luna were never able to be reunited in that summer's evening, they would be connected through the love and understanding they had shared as two travelers and friends.
