*The Queen Bee Class*

"Isabella, Eleanor, Amelia... My three favourite girls."

Sitting in her large oak desk, headmistress Elizabeth Mayfield sighed a deep breath and closed the large brown book that laid on her desk. The headmistress of the prestigious Ellington Academy was a middle-aged woman with long red hair that reached down her back. She had piercing green eyes and a gentle smile always graced her face. It was well known to the students that she was close friends with the daughters of some of the most influential people in England and Europe. Because of this, she had a reputation of being very lenient when it came to punishment - but she held no resentment towards those who did get punished for misbehaving.

She used to be a teacher about 10 years ago at an academy in London and fell in love with her job as well as the city. When one of her students' fathers offered him a position in his company in Ellington, she immediately followed him to the small island off the coast of Norway. Since then she had been working at Ellington as headmistress and loved every bit of it. It was beautiful and peaceful here, far away from the busy streets and noise of London or Paris or even New York City! She taught all subjects herself, including History, Geography, Mathematics, Literature and Science - but she especially loved teaching Literature to her upperclassmen. They were lucky enough to get her lessons four times a week while they learned History from old Mr Kells once a week.

"Isabella..." Elizabeth said softly as she looked around the room with longing eyes. The walls were painted bright yellow and there were five desks with gray chairs in front of them. There were windows on both sides of the room which let sun shine in during daytime illuminating the faces of little girls who sat in silence thinking about their lessons for the day ahead. At times like these, it seemed like time stopped still for Elizabeth as she gazed across the room - watching her happy young students scribble down notes from what they had just been taught... But today would be different than any other day.

"Amelia please go sit with your classmates," Elizabeth spoke up suddenly after having shaken off her thoughts about how much she already loved this school. With a soft giggle Amelia left her spot next to Isabella and walked over to take a seat next to Eleanor where she belonged - not knowing that it was only because Isabella was going to be moving seats so that Eleanor could join them soon enough... "Isabella... I'm afraid I have some bad news..." Elizabeth continued quietly as Isabella let out a small sigh while lowering her head to look at her feet shyly while fiddling with her dark blue skirt nervously. "I'm afraid we're going to have to move you two into another class so that you can learn together without being separated," Elizabeth said gently with sad eyes before continuing: "You'll be joining Mr Kells' History class now since your new friend is already sitting in there."

It took a moment for Elizabeth's words to sink into Isabella's mind - but when they did, she quickly lifted her head up to gaze at Mrs Mayfield confusedly until something dawned on her: "You mean... You mean *we're* *moving* *into* *that* *classroom*?" She asked softly while pointing towards an adjoining door on the other side of Mrs Mayfield's desk that led into another classroom 'If you are allowed to skip one class you are allowed to skip more than one class,' Mr Kells always said whenever he saw someone skipping only one class instead of multiple ones which is why Isabella often skipped two or three classes each day if not more so this wasn't entirely new for either girls nor their teacher... But it still came as quite a surprise nonetheless! "Are we really?!" She asked even louder this time while standing up from her chair and jumping up and down excitedly - startling both Eleanor who had fallen asleep on top of her desk and Amelia who jumped up from where she sat slouched over on top of hers too!

Isabella's heart raced with excitement as she imagined the possibilities that awaited them in their new class. She had always admired Mr. Kells from a distance, fascinated by the way he brought history to life through his stories and animated explanations. Now, she would have the opportunity to learn from him firsthand.

With a joyful smile, Isabella turned to Eleanor. "Did you hear that, Eleanor? We're going to be in Mr. Kells' class together!"

Eleanor's eyes fluttered open, and she blinked sleepily. "What? Oh, really?" She yawned and stretched her arms above her head. "That's good, I suppose. Anything is better than listening to Mrs. Weller drone on about math equations that make my head spin."

Amelia, too, couldn't contain her curiosity. "You think Mr. Kells will let us go on field trips, Isabella? I heard he once took his students to the nearby castle, and they got to dress up in medieval costumes. It was so cool!"

Isabella nodded enthusiastically. The anticipation bubbled within her, and she couldn't help but imagine the adventures that awaited them in their new class. History had always fascinated her, and she longed to delve deeper into the stories of the past.

Gathering their belongings, the three girls exited the sunny classroom, stepping through the adjoining door into Mr. Kells' realm. The air felt different here, almost ancient, as if the walls themselves whispered captivating tales. Isabella's eyes widened in awe as she took in the cozy classroom, adorned with maps, shelves of old books, and artifacts from different eras.

As Mr. Kells noticed their entrance, a warm smile spread across his wrinkled face. His silver hair glinted under the light, and his eyes sparkled with a hint of mischief. "Ah, Isabella and Eleanor, welcome to the world of history," he greeted them warmly. "I've heard great things about both of you. I hope you're ready for an adventure."

Isabella's heart leaped at his words. She couldn't believe that she was about to embark on a journey of knowledge under the guidance of a teacher who shared her passion for the past.

In the weeks that followed, Isabella, Eleanor, and Amelia found themselves captivated by Mr. Kells' dynamic teaching style. He transported them to far-off lands and ancient civilizations, weaving tales with such vividness that the classroom itself seemed to transform into the settings they discussed.

Isabella discovered her knack for historical research, spending countless hours poring over library books and uncovering fascinating details about figures from the past. Eleanor, with her keen analytical mind, found that history not only helped her learn about the world but also offered valuable insights into human behavior. Amelia, full of curiosity and wonder, eagerly absorbed every word, adding her own enthusiasm to classroom discussions.

As the months passed, the bond between the girls and Mr. Kells grew stronger. They became a close-knit group, fueled by their shared love for history and the countless adventures they had embarked upon within the walls of the Ellington Academy.

One day, as the class gathered around a replica ancient Egyptian artifact, Isabella couldn't help but reflect on how much her life had changed since that fateful day in Mrs. Mayfield's office. She was no longer just a quiet observer in a yellow-walled classroom. She had become an active participant in the world of history, embracing the lessons, the stories, and the unending quest for knowledge.

Glancing at her friends, Isabella knew that their journey had only just begun. Together, they were ready to uncover the mysteries of the past, one story at a time. And with Mr. Kells as their guide, they knew they had found a mentor who would nurture their thirst for learning, forever shaping the course of their lives.

The Queen Bee Class had taken flight, and the world had yet to realize the impact these three young girls would have on it. The pages of history were waiting to be written, and Isabella, Eleanor, and Amelia were poised to become the heroines of their own incredible tales.
