The siege of Vel Vitoria, a city held by the Imperialists against the forces of the Granada Republic for almost 2 years, was finally over. The Imperials had nothing left to fight with and were forced to concede defeat.

The Granadans were jubilant in the streets and taverns, singing songs of victory. At the same time, they were sombre as well. After all, this was a bloody battle that took many lives from both sides. There were widows and orphans to be mourned still.

Amongst the celebrations at one of the local taverns sat a man in his mid-twenties. He sat quietly with a bottle of beer, a pile of coins next to him and several dice in his hand.

"Hey, you! Are you gonna play or just watch?" A burly looking man called out to him from across the table. The younger man looked up and thought for a moment before standing up and taking his place opposite him at the table with the dice in his hand. "Five rounds," he said as he dropped five coins into the centre of the table. The burly man grunted and threw down ten coins onto the table before reaching down and picking up two dice from off the floor. The younger man rolled first and missed out on a double six on two rolls, but got doubles on each of his next five attempts. "Are you clairvoyant or something?" asked his opponent jokingly as he picked up another two dice from off the floor.

"It's just luck," replied the young man as he put down another five coins for round 2. Double sixes again! His opponent however achieved only one double six on four rolls, leaving him with no money left to bet for round 3. "You're doing very well," he said as he passed over three more dice to his opponent who picked them up and rolled them into his own hand while picking up two more from off the floor himself. This time around it was his opponent who managed three doubles on six rolls while he himself only achieved one double six on four rolls, again winning all 5 rounds! His opponent stared down at his empty pockets with disbelief written across his face as the young man poured all his winnings into a bag at his feet which quickly filled up until it spilled out onto the floor! "Well played sir," said another patron sitting nearby as he patted him on the back admiringly.
