Creatures of Lintonville Underground.

I remember the day my mom used to tell me stories about how we would explore underground.

In a way, I always wanted to do it.

My mom’s stories were always so incredible, like something out of a movie.

She told me about how she and her friends explored the underground for hours and hours.

They would find amazing treasures down there, hidden in caves that no one knew existed.

Or they would find long forgotten cities the size of our own but with no people.

Those were my favorite stories.

I was so sad when she died.

It wasn’t until after her death that I realized what an amazing person she was and how she inspired me all of my life.

When I grew up, I found a group of explorers just like my mom used to be in and decided to join them on their adventures, hoping to someday explore alongside my mom in the way she did when she was alive.

We had been traveling for days towards Lintonville, a rumored city deep within Earth’s core, when we saw it; a passageway that led into a dark abyss below us.

We had been searching for this tunnel for weeks now and here it was, after all this time! It seemed impossible that it could be real but then again, our entire journey had been filled with impossible things so far.

We gathered our gear together and spread across the opening of the tunnel, looking down inside with excitement and curiosity as it began to grow darker and darker as we looked further down its length. We had flashlights attached to our belts so we wouldn’t have to worry about going into the darkness unprepared or unaware of our surroundings once we made it down there.

The leader of our group finally gave the order to start exploring and we all started jumping down into the darkness together, one after another.

I waited for everyone else to jump before me, not wanting to go first since jumping into an unknown hole in the ground didn’t seem like a good idea at all.

As I stood back from the edge of the entrance and waited for everyone else to jump down before me, it began growing brighter again as if someone had turned on a switch somewhere nearby.

I looked up quickly in surprise and saw that while only half of us had made it down already, it was as if someone controlled a dimmer switch above us because as more of us jumped down and moved away from each other, it became darker again where we were standing but brighter where we had already jumped down already. It was almost as if whoever was controlling this place knew exactly where all of us were standing at all times!

After everyone else made it safely down safely, including myself fully equipped with flashlight on hand now, we all began heading deeper into the tunnel ahead of us.

We walked through the tunnel for what seemed like forever before making any stops at all along the way until finally arriving at what appeared to be some sort of large stone door blocking off further passage beyond this point forward. We took turns examining every inch of it looking for some sort of handle or button that would open it but nothing could be found anywhere on its surface leaving us completely stuck with seemingly no way past this point forward unless someone knew how to pick lock well enough! But even if someone did know how to pick locks well enough, there didn’t appear to be any visible lock on this stone door anyways!

After much frustration over this mysterious door already preventing further passage forward through here we decided to turn back around and make camp right there at this spot where whoever put this stone door up certainly couldn’t see us or bother us while we slept while trying to figure out exactly how they might expect us past this point in the future tomorrow morning!

The next morning I awoke early before anyone else was awake in hopes that I might be able to sneak by unnoticed while everyone else slept to try finding another way past this wall blocking our passage forward towards whatever lay beyond here once I figured out whether or not there might be another way past here without having everyone else slow me down walking so slowly behind me as I went!

As I got closer and closer towards what appeared to be another passageway leading deeper into these catacombs from where I stood now behind this large stone wall blocking our passage forward through here today though… I could hear voices talking loudly somewhere further down that new passageway ahead of me!
