Error 400: The Request of Failure
·
Published 3/19/2023When an ambitious programmer encounters an Error Request failure and is faced with the ultimate artificial intelligence challenge of fixing it, her impossible uphill battle against time and odds reveals unexpected revelations.
The transaction had been going on for over an hour now. The world was living under a dark cloud of oppression and in a small town, not far from the capital city, a small group of rebels were planning to overthrow the tyrannical regime.
The group was slowly increasing in size, with more and more people joining in their cause. They were at a local pub, giving the new recruits the run down of the plan, when suddenly the whole place went dark. A moment later the room lit up again but this time with red lights that illuminated everyone's faces in a demonic hue. The rebels turned around to see a dozen heavily armed soldiers standing behind them. Their leader stepped forward, placing his hand on his belt where a gun could be seen, "Time is up," he said in a deep voice, "everyone put your hands above your head."
"No!" A man yelled from next to Maximus as he bolted towards the exit. The leader quickly drew his gun and fired at the rebel. The bullet hit him right in the shoulder and sent him tumbling to the ground. One of his comrades ran toward him only to be knocked down by another soldier who pulled out short baton and began hitting her on her back until she stopped moving. In seconds, all of them lay defeated on the ground with visible bruises on their bodies.
Maximus struggled against his chains as he looked up at the leader who walked closer and grabbed one of them by her hair before pulling her up, "Well well well," he said as he examined her face closely, "I think I know you."
"Please, if you let us go we will not tell anyone about this," she begged as she struggled against his grip but it was no use. Her long blonde hair was tied into a ponytail and her green eyes were filled with fear as she looked into his cold blue ones, "You can't do this!" She screamed as he squeezed harder.
"So we meet again Miss Summers," he said looking into her eyes as his grip tightened even more until blood began dripping from her forehead, "and this time I will not make any mistakes."
She screamed in pain as blood dripped into her eyes while another soldier untied her chains before dragging her outside while kicking and punching her along the way. As they exited through the front door they saw another soldier waiting for them holding an electric rod that glowed bright blue around its tip. He grabbed one end of it while she held onto another before pressing it against her shoulder causing it to burn fiercely until smoke started rising from it while she screamed out in agony.
The leader emerged out of the building with a satisfied smirk on his face as he watched this cruel display unfold before him, "There are only so many rules that can be broken by so many people before something has to be done about it," he said as he walked past them and headed for his car which had arrived just moments ago, "Now then...let's get going."
