The dauntless Duke and the Mermaid's Pearl

"I'm 'onna kill you, you know that right?" Tessa said.

"I know." The Duke replied as he was dragged through the waters.

"Gonna steal my pearl, ya nasty ol' geezer?" She asked.

"Careful with those words, darling." He smiled back to her and she made a face of disgust.

"Why you gotta be so nice to me? Thinkin I'm gonna fall for it, that won't work on me, you know?" She said, wiggling her tail in his face as if he were a fish on a line. She knew he liked it, but still she did it. They both knew why she was there and what would happen once they got to their destination. He knew he could never let her have the pearl, or all would be lost. And she knew that if he gave her the pearl she would let him go and live another day. This routine is what kept them both alive this long together on this journey. They had been at this game for over ten years now, and they were getting old. They needed one more score before they could retire from the life of crime and enjoy their stolen wealth in the safety of their own homes far away from each other's reach.

They moved quickly through the water until reaching their destination; an underwater castle built atop an underwater mountain range. This structure was constructed by a civilization long since vanished, connected to the legendary figure Moebius who lived in the time before time began. Moebius played a role in the creation of the universe, including all living beings and planets. The underwater castle served as his dwelling place where he worked on his creations. However, Moebius fell from grace after conspiring with fellow angels to overthrow God. The ancient religious texts, including The Bible, Koran, and Torah, describe how Moebius and the angels were cast down into space, leading to the formation of Earth.

The Duke continued pulling Tessa through the waters towards the castle until they finally reached its entrance; a large gaping hole located deep beneath an undersea mountain range near an island chain known to locals as "The Devil's Teeth". As they entered through this portal, they began encountering various undiscovered species of marine life living among these rocks and ruins containing broken pillars carved with ancient languages left behind by Moebius himself.

After entering deep inside the mountain range which led them deeper into these ruins, they came across an octagonal shaped room with writings etched into its walls. These writings contained detailed information regarding the number of heavenly beings who fought alongside God in the great celestial war and their fates, whether they were cast into hell or survived. The Duke remained vigilant against any attempts by Tessa to steal the pearl in these dangerous circumstances.

They approached one of the relics left behind by Moebius, containing strange markings and symbols representing letters from an ancient language predating humanity. As they ventured further into the ruins, they realized that only those with certain magical abilities bestowed by Lucifer himself could traverse the depths safely. This revelation weighed heavily on The Duke's mind, as he pondered how to overcome Tessa's treachery and claim the pearl for himself.

Tessa's voice cut through The Duke's thoughts, bringing him back to reality. They continued their perilous journey through the underwater labyrinth, knowing that only one of them could ultimately possess the coveted pearl.
