The sun was shining in the cloudless sky above. The trees swayed gently, their leaves rustling softly against the wind. A bright green butterfly flitted around a purple flower, the vibrant colors contrasting with the surrounding grey stones and deep blue sea.

“That’s it! I swear to god I see it!” Olaf exclaimed. He pointed at a large rock. “Look!”

Marianna giggled, shaking her head as she followed after him. “Olaf, you do realize that there are no such things as mermaids, right?”

He smiled triumphantly at her. “Sure, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be hidden inside rocks! Like in The Little Mermaid!”

She rolled her eyes and laughed again. “I thought you were more of an Aladdin man?” She asked him.

He chuckled along. “You know me too well. But still, look! There are some symbols on it! Do you think we found the treasure finally?” He peered closer at the stones and walked around them, his hands behind his back like he was holding a magnifying glass from an old cartoon.

Jukka joined them and picked up a rock nearby to examine it as well. “There are some markings here as well… not sure about those though.. don’t seem to resemble anything I know of.. This one looks like a bird.. And this one is definitely a fish.. Maybe they were part of their culture.. Maybe they are just decorations.. Or maybe they had some kind of beliefs that we don’t know about yet..” He trailed off and stared out into the ocean for a moment, lost in his own thoughts before he turned back towards them with a wide smile on his face. “Who cares what they actually mean? We found something! Let’s just take it home so we can figure it out and- Oh my god! Marianna, look at that! An island! I didn’t even notice it before because of these rocks blocking my view… but there it is! Let’s go check it out, shall we?” Jukka hurried over to their boat, clearly excited by all of this new information and eager to explore another island on this little adventure. Marianna followed after him with a small smile on her face. Jukka was always much more open minded about things than she ever would admit to anyone but herself so he had been the one who was most excited by all of this from the beginning while she had been overly cautious and careful.
