Published 4/23/2023Perilous adventure awaits the resilient elven archer queen Jordyne Coronarion as she embarks on a quest to face off against the barbaric King Tuffaro, gathering powerful alliances and utilizing an ancient chant of strength along the way in 4th century New Zealand.

Their footsteps were heavy, the rocks and mud making their way difficult. They'd been on the move for days, he lead them. The way was long, they weren't even half way there yet, and they were being hunted. Their pursuers were closer than they'd like to admit, but they could not stop until they reached their destination.
He looked behind them, his eyes following the trail as it cut through the forest. His eyes scanned over what he could see of their pursuers.
"They've slowed." He said quietly so as not to disturb their progress. "Let's keep moving."
Being in the middle of a forest at night was never easy, no matter how well you knew it. It was dangerous and unpredictable; one wrong step and you would fall in a pit or run into something that would hurt you or worse. Even if you didn't, you might stumble into an animal who would think nothing of attacking you when it felt threatened. The group moved slowly along the path as Jaime guided them towards their destination, watching for any signs of danger or obstacles in their way.
*Boom!*
The sound of gun fire echoed through the trees, startling everyone except Jaime. He never broke stride. He peered through the trees ahead of them as they continued to walk, looking for anything that may be another threat to them before they reached their goal in safety. No one spoke; only the sounds of their footsteps breaking twigs and crushing leaves filled the air around them.
"Jaime?" a voice called from behind him. "What's that?" He turned his head to see a man pointing up at the sky above them with a look of concern on his face. "I don't know about these lights..."
Jaime stopped walking suddenly causing most of those behind him to either collide with each other or fall over in surprise and fear as they tried to avoid running into him. He stared up at the sky above them where one of the men had pointed at some strange lights that seemed to be moving through the sky above them. They seemed to be quite far away though and there was only a little bit of light between here and where they were going right now so he wasn't too worried about it right now; he was more worried about finding somewhere safe for all of them to rest while they waited for daylight so they could continue on their journey safely without being caught by Tuffaro's men.
