I can’t believe it. I’m finally done. I’m finally done with Windows 11 and its shit system requirements, and I can install the REAL Windows 10 on my laptop.

*whew* That was hard work! But now it’s over, I can relax and install Windows 10 without worrying about all that crap from the OS. Haha, yeah right. Now I have to deal with the real world, and all its problems.

Dad wants me to do chores today to pay for the new computer and for upgrading Windows 10 to version 14! That stupid STUPID piece of crap! It doesn’t deserve to be called a version of Windows! Its just as bad as that stupid OS!

I sigh but pick up a broom and start sweeping around the house. My mind wanders back to my old laptop…

I was so happy when I got it! It was an awesome gift from Dad, because he knew how much I loved computers. The day he gave it to me, I spent hours setting up its operating system, which took forever because Windows 11 kept crashing every five minutes. What kind of crappy OS is this? Why would anyone ever want to use it!?

Finally, after what felt like years later, I managed to set up a basic operating system. Next, I installed all my favourite apps onto the laptop and began using it like any other user would.

After just one hour of using this crappy system, it crashed with a loud bang! The screen went black and the green light that usually turns on when you turn on a computer went out too. For some reason, it wouldn’t even turn on anymore after that crash!

I tried everything to get the damned thing working again—battery changes, plugging it in while pressing the power button, nothing worked! Nothing except clicking “Restart” in that stupid dialog box that popped up after mashing every key on my keyboard at once. This was madness! Did someone actually make a computer like this? Even my old phone could handle more than this thing could! How did anyone survive using this piece of junk?

Dad didn’t seem surprised when I told him about the problem (though he did look quite disappointed), but agreed to buy me a better laptop if I maintained good grades in school for the next few weeks (which meant keeping away from his dodgy business). With no other choice left (and no desire to return back to those days), I started doing my homework on this laptop while praying that Dad would get me something better soon enough.

*cough cough* Excuse me… Ugh, maybe there was dust in here somewhere; these allergies are killing me right now… Fucking Windows 11. If only Dad could afford something better…

A knock on my door interrupts my thoughts and brings me back into reality as Dad enters my room with a shopping bag filled with new stuff for our house.

He looks at me sadly before saying “Hey kiddo… Your mom asked me to buy you some new clothes today since yours were… well… you know…” Then he pauses for a moment before continuing “Since your clothes were really dirty or something like that… Anyway, here’s your new stuff for today along with your allowance for helping Mom out around the house last week. Just make sure you pay for anything extra you buy yourself with this money okay?”

I nod in response as Dad leaves my room holding his shopping bag close to him—he probably doesn’t want Mom asking about what he bought today—before walking down the stairs and out of sight towards the kitchen where Mom should be preparing dinner right now.

- - - *sigh* Well … Guess I should get started doing those chores now huh? Might as well get them out of the way before Mom starts yelling at me again…
