The train ride was long and boring at first. The lights flickered on and off, the trolley was empty, but I had no choice but to stay on it.

The windows were cracked, but it didn't stop the icy wind from blowing in. I could see my breath through the window. I rubbed my hands together trying to keep warm. Suddenly while staring out the window I saw a ghostly figure sitting across from me. It wasn't anything menacing, he just sat there, staring straight ahead. I didn't know what to do so I just continued to rub my hands together hoping that would somehow warm them up.

I looked back out the window and saw the scenery slowly change. It got darker outside, and that's when I noticed something about my seat companion: he was getting closer to me. He only moved a few inches at a time, but it was definitely noticeable. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up as he moved closer and closer to me. The old wooden bench creaked with each movement he made and with every creak my heart skipped a beat. Finally, he stopped moving and sat facing me directly opposite from where he started at the other end of the bench. He still stared straight ahead not making eye contact with me at all.

I took this chance to look him over more closely now that he wasn't moving anymore. His skin was white as snow with deep blue veins showing through in some areas like his face and hands. His clothes were rumpled and dirty looking as if left in a hamper for months without being washed. His hair was disheveled and falling out of place in places where it shouldn't be sticking out from his head like weeds growing around an old building foundation.. His eyes were deep set in his skull almost as if they were sunken into his head rather than being pushed outward like most people's eyes are during life. The irises were bright red just like blood covered rubies. There was no sign of pupils or whites surrounding them; they looked more like glowing embers that were going to burst into flames at any moment now that they were exposed to the frigid air inside the trolley car by way of my breath clouds appearing in front of their owner's face every time I exhaled into them due to rubbing my hands together in an attempt to keep warm while shivering violently due to the cold temperature inside this old rickety trolley car which seemed to be passing through an even older section of town outside our windows...

Suddenly, one of those glowing red eyes turned toward me and locked onto mine as if it had been watching me for quite some time now... I stopped rubbing my hands together immediately and stood up from the seat without looking away from him for fear that he would pounce on me or something crazy like that... So many thoughts rushed through my head at once: "Is this really real? Am I really seeing this? Should I run?" But before any action could be taken we arrived at our destination: Greymarsh Cemetery -
