Uncovering the Moon's Dark Secret

I was getting ready to close up for the night when the last customer of the day walked in. It was one of those slow nights where everyone seems to be putting off their shopping until they absolutely have to go home.

"Evening, how are you doing tonight? A lot of customers?" I asked. My boss would be pissed if I closed without saying something. I didn't want him to have a heart attack or anything like that.

"No, not really," he replied back.

"Yeah, it's been pretty slow all night. So what can I get for ya?" I asked as I picked up his stuff and rang him out.

He looked over at me and smiled, "A smile from you."

I started to blush, "Oh... um... s-sure." He gave me another smile and paid for his items. He started walking towards the door but stopped halfway there and turned around, "You're cute." And with that, he walked out saying thank you as he left. I couldn't believe it! No guy has ever said anything like that to me before! As I stood there in shock, my boss came out of the back room with a bag on his arm, "You just gonna stand there all night? Lets close up now."

As we were closing everything down for the night, my mind kept going back to that stranger who bought some snacks earlier in the evening. After everything was locked up, my boss went into the back room while I cleaned up by the register. Then suddenly, I heard the door start rattling and someone calling out my name outside. At first I thought maybe it was my boss messing with me because he finally got tired of waiting for me to finish up but then he came out of the back room and asked if someone was here. That's when we both saw this ominous figure standing outside wiping away at the glass window with a handkerchief as if trying to see inside better. More afraid than curious, we both ran back into the back room while locking the door behind us but that didn't stop that person from banging on the door asking us to open up because they needed help.

My boss screamed out "What do you want!?" and after a few seconds of silence from our mysterious guest, he said "I need your help..." followed by this deep sigh afterwards. "My wife is cheating on me with her 'Personal Trainer'!" he cried out in anger before continuing, "And she won't even talk to me about it anymore! She just closes her eyes and pretends like none of this is happening!" His voice started breaking up as he continued ranting on about how he didn't know what else to do about his wife leaving him for her trainer so he decided that if she really loved her trainer so much then he could probably make her love him too... whatever that meant? He also mentioned something about not being able to live without her which made very little sense at this point because they had only been married a few years ago so unless she died or something then how could he already be thinking about living without his wife? The whole thing sounded strange but my boss wanted me to give him some advice on what to do because apparently we had more experience under our belts than this guy did since we've both been married before... except neither of us are actually married right now thanks to our ex-wives! But we tried telling him that wasn't possible and if he really cared about his wife then maybe he should go home and talk things over with her instead of scaring off potential customers like this guy seemed to be doing right now! The guy thanked us for our time and left without causing any further trouble which was actually kind of surprising considering how loud we heard him screaming through that door just a few minutes ago!
