The Body Switch Chronicles

"Ahhhh...the smell of a fresh morning in the mountains!"

"Ugh, why does my head hurt so bad?" I said to myself. My vision was still blurry, but it did not seem to be from a hangover. "I remember drinking last night but that's about it."

I rubbed my eyes and looked around. I was lying in a meadow with a bunch of apple trees nearby. I had never been this far up in the mountains before, and I have no idea how I got up here. The only thing that I could see from where I was laying were tall green grasses and trees, the furthest one being at least a mile away. There were also some strange purple flowers that grew here and there throughout the tall grass.

Standing up, I brushed myself off and looked down at my clothes. To my surprise, what I was wearing was not what I would normally wear for hiking in the mountains. Instead of jeans or shorts, I was wearing loose white pants with a brown belt wrapped around them. On top of that, instead of my normal shirt, I had on a long sleeve dark blue shirt with buttons running down the middle. "What is this?" I thought to myself while looking back at my body and seeing that the clothes seemed to fit me pretty well. "Maybe someone just dropped off these weird clothes?"

Looking at the ground again and seeing that there were no signs of anyone having been there, I started walking towards wherever this path led me. The flowers seemed to light up as if they were glowing when they caught sight of me walking through them. A few minutes into my walk and the sun started shining more brightly in the sky above me as if it knew that more people would be awake soon to enjoy its beauty today. Just then, something caught my eye near the edge of an apple tree near me. It was a single apple that had fallen from the tree above it. "Well," I thought to myself turning towards it, "I guess it wouldn't hurt to eat one before starting on my way."

As soon as my hand touched the shiny red fruit lying on the ground, nothing happened for awhile before suddenly...my vision went black! And when it came back...it wasn't where I expected it to be! It felt like someone had simply dragged me places without warning! My body felt like it weighed about 10 times less than usual (not sure how much it should weigh), and when I opened my eyes...I saw that everything was now different! Where there once was lush green grasses with pretty purple flowers everywhere...there now stood a wooden floor covered with toys all over the place! My body felt small somehow...like someone had shrunk me down without telling me about it! And most importantly...wherever this was, nobody seemed to be home!

"Well..." I said to myself trying not to make too much noise so nobody would hear me talking by opening doors and moving things around, "This doesn't look like any house that I've seen before."

The walls were filled with paintings of animals doing human activities like playing instruments or cooking food while others sat around looking bored while eating apples themselves. There also seemed to be some kind of fish swimming behind some glass windows near the ceiling of this room as well as another window showing trees outside along with what appeared to be some kind of giant bird flying by them too quickly for me to see very well. The floors were made out of wood and had pictures drawn on them along with some odd symbols written underneath those drawings that looked like they were written in another language entirely.

"This place feels really weird..."

"Hey wait!" I heard someone yell from inside another room nearby by opening its door ever so slightly. "Where are you going? You can't run away from your problems!"

"I'm not running away!" shouted a young man's voice back from where he was standing somewhere in this house as well it sounded like he was arguing with someone else who wasn't saying anything back towards him yet either but whoever they were didn't sound happy at all either because their voice seemed angry in an almost scary sort of way too for whatever reason...almost like whoever they were would do something bad if they didn't get their way or something?
