Silent Snowfall Hope

I woke up this morning groggily scratching an itch on my nose when suddenly someone reached over and grabbed my shoulder roughly and shook me awake before shouting "Get up! You're going shopping with us today." However, my mind, still clouded by slumber and plagued with headache, caused their words to sound jumbled, unintelligible, and filled with vague anguish, as if the pressure of troubles was building incessantly within me.

"Breathe," someone whispered softly into my ear as their arms wrapped around me, instinctively hugging their way closer, attempting to ward off the resurfacing pangs of those relentless issues. All I can focus on is maintaining my breathing, trying not to get angry, thinking happy thoughts, praying harder than ever, resisting the urge to hate Christmas, and finally coming to terms with the reason why Mom hadn't told anyone about my visit. It remains a struggle to understand her reluctance to share the news of her well-loved daughter's arrival – the person who would do absolutely anything for her.

Unable to move or speak from shock after waking up from such a vivid nightmare straight into tears without even realizing it myself until now, all I can do is stare blankly ahead at nothing while hugging tightly onto whoever is comforting me behind me as quietly as possible while they hold onto me just as tightly whispering soft words into both ears. They provide encouragement and reassurance that everything will be okay this year, just like every other year, because despite all uncertainties and lingering questions, love still prevails within our family.

Help is always there for those who need it—support from friends, kindness from strangers, and unwavering love from family. This realization empowers me to let go of overwhelming despair, embrace the possibility of healing, and cherish the moments spent with those who genuinely care.
