Red and the Four Brides
·
Published 4/20/2023Red, an intrepid adventurer from a distant planet, embarks on a journey of love and loyalty as he courts four women, Misty, Cynthia, Flannery, and Sabrina, and faces an unheard-of challenge by asking them all to become his brides.

I was sitting in the corner of a bar, sipping on a drink, when I saw her. She had long brown hair, deep blue eyes, and a fantastic body. Her face was gorgeous as well, and she really seemed to be enjoying herself with her friends.
"I wonder if they're single," I said to myself.
I got up from my seat and walked over to her group. They were laughing about something and having a great time. As I approached them, I could hear what they were saying.
"That guy is so hot!" one girl said. "And he's wearing some kind of weird cowboy hat!"
"He must be from Texas or something," another girl replied, giggling.
They went back to their conversation, and I tapped the shoulder of one of them. She looked at me for a second before standing up and introducing herself. "Hi, I'm Misty," she said smiling. "Are you here with your friends?" She asked, looking around the bar.
I shook my head no and smiled back at her. "No, I just wanted to have a drink alone, but this place is a little bit crowded."
"Oh yeah it is," Misty replied, still smiling. "How did you even find a seat?"
I shrugged my shoulders and looked down at the floor while thinking of an answer that would seem believable to her without actually lying to her face. "You know what? It doesn't matter," Misty said, interrupting my thoughts. "Why don't you join us?" She asked, gesturing towards her group of friends who were all staring at me now with smiles on their faces as well.
I hesitated but decided to join them since there wasn't much else for me to do. I sat at the table with them, and shortly after, we were interrupted by someone calling out across the bar at us.
"Hey girls! Over here!" One of their friends shouted, trying to get our attention. We watched him sprint towards us, heavily panting once he finally arrived. He had short brown hair, blue eyes, and wore a peculiar combination of green camouflage with regular street clothes.
"Hey guys!" He said smiling at us, catching his breath after his run across the bar. "I'm Red! Red Greenfield! Nice to meet you ladies!" He shook everyone's hand except for mine since I nodded instead, satisfied with a high five.
After exchanging pleasantries, Red spoke for a while about how beautiful everyone looked that night, which made them blush, and shared why he had traveled here in the first place. According to him, he wanted to experience love elsewhere since it seemed that people from his hometown had never experienced it. The conversation continued as Misty asked me about my origins, leading to an explanation of my species, our definition of love, and experiences on Earth.
Red continued, recounting his lonely journey, meeting several attractive women along the way, and falling in love with multiple potential soulmates simultaneously, including the four women present at the table. He shared his struggle to pick just one as a partner, and his consideration of marrying one of them if the circumstances don't change drastically.
And so, the night went on with laughter, introspection, and curious conversations about love, relationships, and what the future might hold for each of these interesting characters.
