“Hey! Stop right there!”

Jack froze as the voice echoed through the corridor of the CAL Guard ship. He turned slowly, his heart pounding in his chest, to see two guards rushing towards him.

“What did you do?” one of them demanded. “What did you take?”

“I didn’t take anything!” Jack protested, but it was no use. The guards were on him in an instant, their hands patting him down and searching his pockets.

And that’s when they found it. The Ocean Heart necklace. The most valuable piece of jewelry in the entire galaxy.

“How did this get in your pocket?” one of the guards demanded.

“I don’t know!” Jack insisted. “I swear I didn’t take it!”

But the guards weren’t listening. They cuffed Jack and led him away, leaving a trail of confused and concerned looks from his fellow passengers.

As they led him down a dimly lit hallway, Jack couldn’t help but notice how quiet it was. Too quiet.

“Where is everyone?” he asked.

The guard shrugged. “Probably asleep,” he said dismissively.

They continued down the hallway until they reached a small room at the end. They pushed Jack inside and locked the door behind him.

Jack looked around the room. It was small and bare, with nothing more than a metal bench attached to one wall and a single lightbulb hanging from the ceiling.

He sighed and sat down on the bench, his mind racing with thoughts of how he had ended up here.

Just then, there was a loud crash from outside followed by complete darkness as all of the lights on the ship went out.

“What’s happening?” Jack called out nervously.

There was no response. Jack strained his ears to listen for any sound but heard nothing except for his own breathing.

After what felt like an eternity, there was a soft click as the door to his cell swung open.

“Hello?” Jack called out cautiously.

There was still no response. Jack stood up and cautiously stepped out into the hallway. It was pitch black, but he could hear the faint sound of footsteps echoing in the distance.

He followed the sound until he reached the main control room of the ship. The door was open, and Jack could see a figure hunched over one of the consoles.

“Hello?” Jack called out again as he approached.

The figure turned slowly, revealing itself to be a CAL Guard officer. But there was something off about him. His skin was pale and translucent, and his eyes were completely white.

Jack took a step back in horror as he realized that this wasn’t a person at all. It was a hologram.

“What’s going on?” he asked the hologram, but there was no response.

Suddenly, there was another crash from outside followed by a blinding flash of light as all of the ship’s systems came back online.

Jack shielded his eyes and looked around in confusion as everything returned to normal. The CAL Guard officer at the console disappeared, leaving nothing behind but an empty chair.

Just then, there was a soft chime from one of the nearby consoles. Jack walked over and saw that it was an incoming message from none other than Captain Lira herself.

“Jack,” her voice crackled over the intercom. “I owe you an apology.”

Jack frowned in confusion as he listened to her words.

“I should have believed you when you said you didn’t steal the necklace,” she continued. “It seems that someone on board is trying to frame you for their own crimes.”

“But who?” Jack wondered aloud.

“I don’t know,” Captain Lira admitted. “But I’m going to find out.”

There was a pause before she spoke again.

“In the meantime,” she said with a hint of amusement in her voice, “why don’t you go ahead and enjoy the rest of your trip? On the house.”

Jack couldn’t help but smile as he listened to her words. Maybe his luck was finally starting to turn around.

As he made his way back to his cabin, he couldn’t help but think about how strange everything had been. The hologram, the power outage, the mysterious message from Captain Lira.

It was almost like something out of a movie.

But as Jack settled into his seat and looked out at the stars passing by outside his window, he couldn’t help but feel that maybe, just maybe, this was exactly where he was supposed to be.
