Lunar Bloodshed: Jodran's Revenge
·
Published 3/8/2023Mischievous young Jodran seeks revenge on a moon consumed by Stone Age darkness by uniting a mysterious wise elder, an incorrigible space pirate, and an exiled noble in an epic battle of good vs. evil for control of the cosmos.
A boy ran. The wind whipped at his hair and clothes, the dust stung his eyes but he didn't stop.
He ran. He ran because they were behind him, chasing him down with their speeder bikes and weapons. He ran because they wanted to kill him.
They had killed his parents and his friends just yesterday, shot them dead as they tried to run away. He remembered the fear in their eyes as they realised there was nowhere left to run. They were trapped on this barren moon, running out of air already and now caught by the enemy.
The boy knew what was going to happen next. He could see it clearly in his mind's eye, the men in red walking towards them, weapons raised high as if in a salute before killing them all in cold blood. He remembered how he had screamed as he saw it happen. Screamed until his throat was raw and then screamed some more. But he couldn't do anything to stop them, he had been too young and too scared to do anything but sob helplessly as he watched his mother and father, brother and sister get gunned down before his very eyes.
But there was one person who wasn't dead yet and that person was him: Jodran the youngest member of the noble family of Erol, who would grow up to be a great warrior a man of power and prestige like his father or so he thought until these traitors took over everything throwing the entire family into exile on this barren moon where they lived ever so miserably before being hunted down like dogs by these despicable enemies who were willing to kill an entire family just to take over their land, their possessions and their title.
Jodran kept on running until finally he could no longer see the men in red anymore. Maybe they were giving up? Maybe they decided to let them go? No, it was too good to be true Jodran knew that much by now after all those days on the run; maybe they thought it wasn't worth it anymore? Maybe there was something more valuable for them out here?
Jodran slowed down his steps allowing himself a break and sat down on a rock next to a small pond full of water which shone like pure silver in the sunlight. He dried off some of the sweat from his face with his sleeve then took a deep breath trying to calm himself down for a moment before continuing on with his journey home which seemed like an impossible task at this point but if he didn't try someone else would die from starvation or thirst or worse than that: from these murderers' bullets when they realised no one was really left at home except him. Jodran knew them well enough; they would never let him go until they got what they wanted, no matter what price they had to pay for it!
And still... despite everything... despite all those deaths... despite all those sorrows... despite all that pain... Jodran felt proud of himself for having escaped thus far without getting caught by those monsters! He had managed it somehow even though others hadn't been so lucky including most of the people living here who probably died long ago due to lack of food or water or simply because they gave up hope before even making any attempt at escaping!
"You have done well." A voice said from behind startling Jodran out of his thoughts. "It is not easy to escape from your enemies."
A man dressed in green robes walked towards Jodran looking at him curiously with wise eyes that seemed hundreds if not thousands years old judging by their appearance as if time itself hadn't touched them. "I have seen you running earlier through my window." The man said calmly though still watching every move made by Jodran "You are quite fast for such a young boy!" Then he smiled kindly at Jodran who jumped back startled by such sudden appearance accompanied with sudden words "You can call me Elder." Said Elder smiling kindly again "My name is Enoch."
