The first thing that struck me about her was her hair. It was a deep blue, darker than the night sky when the moon was hidden from view by a thick blanket of clouds. Her eyes were equally dark, but it seemed the color came from within them, rather than being reflected. They glowed with an inner light that betrayed the darkness of their hue. She sat across from me in a room full of women who wore richly colored gowns and ornate hairstyles, all vying for the attention of the Emperor. Some of them smiled at me, perhaps hoping I would bestow some favor upon them by choosing their company over that of others.

I had been staring at this woman for quite some time now, trying to figure out what it was about her that drew me so inexorably to her side. The rosy hue of her cheeks? Maybe. The way she leaned slightly forward to catch every word I said? Maybe. Or maybe it was simply because I had seen her before.

"Excuse me, sir," one of my junior officers interrupted me while I tried to think back to where I had seen this woman before. "There is news from the north."

I turned to him with a frown and gestured for him to continue. He cleared his throat nervously before he spoke again. "We've received reports from our scouts in the north regarding a large force of enemy soldiers approaching our borders."

"How large?" I asked quietly, still looking back at her as she laughed at something another lady said. She raked her fingers through those blue locks and tucked them behind her ear before she tilted her head back and let out another peal of laughter that reverberated around the room. I found myself smiling vaguely as if I could hear it even from where I stood.

"It seems to be a hundred thousand strong sir," he replied after a moment's hesitation while he waited for me to turn back towards him with an impatient sigh, which he did not receive because I remained rooted to my spot even after he finished speaking his piece. He coughed again and glanced towards the other officers surrounding us, before finally blurting out, "Sir! Shall we prepare for war?"

The question startled me so much that my entire body jerked around abruptly towards him and then immediately froze in place when I saw the curious stares of both my officers and those around us at my reaction. After blushing furiously under my helmet, I cleared my throat loudly to cover up his mistake and walked off without acknowledging his question or waiting for an answer from anyone else present in the room or beyond it as far as that went.

I weaved through the crowd, my eyes fixed on the woman with the dark blue hair. She continued to chat and laugh, completely oblivious to my presence. Who was she? Where had I seen her before? The thoughts swirled in my mind like a tempestuous storm, clouding my focus and dredging up memories that seemed just beyond my grasp.

As I ventured closer, her laughter faded into the background, drowned out by the pounding of my heart against my chest. I maneuvered through the sea of elegantly dressed women, each step bringing me closer to her enchanting presence. Finally, I stood before her, swallowing the nervous lump in my throat.

"I apologize for my rudeness, but I couldn't help but notice you from across the room," I stammered, my voice barely above a whisper. Her eyes turned toward me, capturing my gaze in their mysterious depths. "Have we met before?"

Her lips curled into a faint smile, illuminating her ethereal beauty. "Indeed, we have," she replied, her voice as smooth as silk. "But it seems our encounter has escaped your memory."

I furrowed my brow, racking my brain for any inkling of familiarity. Memories flashed before my eyes, teasing me with glimpses of places I couldn't quite recall. "Please, enlighten me," I pleaded.

She leaned in closer, her voice laden with whispered secrets. "Do you remember the ancient oak tree, standing tall amidst a field of wildflowers? Or the sound of waves crashing against rocky cliffs, with the wind dancing through your hair?"

Recognition flickered in my mind like a candle in the wind. The moss-covered oak tree, the scent of the ocean, the laughter echoing through the fields. It all flooded back to me in fragments, piecing together like a jigsaw puzzle. "The dreams," I whispered, my voice laced with awe. "I've seen you in my dreams."

Her smile deepened, a glimmer of mischief sparking in her eyes. "Yes, my love," she murmured. "Those were not mere dreams but memories of a time long forgotten. A time when we were bound together by an unbreakable bond."

Fear mingled with excitement coursed through my veins as I dove further into the depths of these newfound memories. I saw myself as a warrior, fierce and valiant, battling alongside her against unimaginable odds. We fought side by side, never faltering, never surrendering.

"But why can't I remember any of this? Why has it been obscured from my mind?" I questioned, desperation seeping into my voice.

Her hand slipped into mine, warm and comforting. "There are forces beyond our control, my love. Forces that seek to keep us apart, to prevent us from fulfilling our destiny. But the time has come for us to remember, to reclaim what is rightfully ours."

She spoke with conviction, and a newfound determination ignited within me. No longer a mere observer of my own existence, I was ready to fight for the love that had been denied us. My heart swelled with anticipation and a renewed sense of purpose.

Just as the air around us crackled with electricity and the world stood still in anticipation, the familiar voice of my junior officer pierced through the reverie. "Sir! Shall we prepare for war?"

I tore my gaze from the woman and turned to face him, a fire burning in my eyes. "We will prepare for war," I declared, my voice carrying the weight of destinies intertwined. "But not just any war. We shall wage a battle against the forces that seek to keep us apart, for love and the memories that bind us."

The room erupted in whispers and gasps, the sound reverberating like a symphony of anticipation. With newfound purpose and the woman by my side, we embarked on a journey to reclaim our forgotten past, fighting against the darkness that threatened to consume us.

As we prepared for the impending war, I knew that our love would be our greatest strength. With her blue hair and eyes that held the secrets of our shared history, we would face the enemy head-on, knowing that together, we were destined for victory. And in the end, love would prevail, shattering the barriers of time and memory, for us and for all who believed in the power of an eternal bond.
