Austin and Ava: A French Love Story

The morning sun blazed into the room, waking Ava from her slumber. She stretched and yawned as she opened her eyes and sat up. The air in the room was stale, so she opened a window to let in some fresh mountain air from the foothills. She looked at the bedside table and saw that Austin wasn't there. Knowing he had likely gone downstairs for breakfast, she decided to get ready for the day ahead. After getting dressed and brushing her short red hair, she made her way down to the dining room where she found Austin eating breakfast.

"Good morning love," Austin said as Ava walked over to him. He gave her a kiss on the lips, "How did you sleep?"

"Fine," Ava sighed, "That bed in our room is heavenly."

"I know right? It's better than any of the beds we've tried so far, so I'm glad we got this one."

"You're right," Ava said as she sat down next to him, "But I do miss my own bed back home."

Austin put his hand on Ava's and said, "I know it's not easy being away from your family and friends, but I hope my presence makes it easier."

Ava smiled and put her hand on top of his, "It does make it easier. I feel safer with you here than when we were apart."

"I know how crazy everything has been for you, but don't worry about any of that now," Austin reassured her, "We're on vacation. Let's just enjoy ourselves before we have to continue our journey."

Ava nodded and took a deep breath as she looked out the window across from them. The sun had risen above the mountains in front of them and was shining brightly into their eyes. They didn't mind though because it felt good to be in such a warm place after all that they had been through recently back home in the cold United States. While they enjoyed their breakfast and watched the birds fly by outside, they thought back to all of their adventures together since they first met at a protest rally back home in Seattle last year during Trump's inauguration day. Since then they were chased by two secret service agents when they tried to cross over into Canada illegally; they were almost caught by border patrol when crossing back into Washington State; they were forced to leave their apartment with only what they could carry when their landlord suddenly changed policy on pets living there; they grew closer after nearly freezing to death near an abandoned ski lodge in the Cascades; they escaped prison in Portland when surrounded by Homeland Security police; and finally made it all the way across America to California where they would finally begin their trip around Europe together. Throughout all of this chaos and mayhem, however, there was one thing that kept them going: their love for one another. Without each other's presence with them throughout their adventure, neither would have been able [to] continue doing what they did or even want to keep trying anymore when times got tough. They were truly meant for each other and could never imagine themselves with anyone else now that they knew each other's hearts so deeply. Even though things were rough at times, it was still worth every moment that they spent together because it made their love stronger every time something happened between them which brought them closer together as a couple. And now that they were finally together once again after everything that had happened along their journey thus far, neither wanted anything more than to stay there forever with each other enjoying each moment together until time ended itself forever just for them so that no matter what else happened neither would ever have to part ways again.
