In the village of Ixtrem, in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, there lived a young boy named Abel.

Abel's life was far from easy. He was part of a small Krsipa tribe that had been living in peace for decades until the recent arrival of a powerful tyrant known as the Marquis and his army of Waygres. The Marquis had arrived in search of rare artifacts that were said to be hidden deep within the Amazonian rainforest. The fact that he believed such things still existed after five centuries baffled scientists and historians alike.

But regardless of whether or not it was based on old myths, the Marquis' intentions were clear: he wanted to take over the world by unleashing any power he could find. His cruel treatment of anyone who dared to oppose him made him an enemy to many nations around the world. Even though his occupation was far away from their peaceful home, the Krsipa tribe knew they couldn't hide forever. It was only a matter of time before they crossed paths in Ixtrem.

The tribe's elders had long predicted such an event and instructed their children to prepare for any confrontation with the Marquis and his soldiers. They taught them how to survive in harsh conditions, how to hunt for food and avoid animals that could kill them without hesitation if provoked. They also taught them how to use weapons, most importantly how to use their fists against others whose intentions were less than pure. They called these lessons "the Abiks", which literally meant "the way" in their native language and followed a strict routine every day after lunch so that every child would learn their lessons well. When Abel turned twelve years old, he too had become an Abik student at last.

The first few lessons got him accustomed to hunting animals with simple tools such as spears and nets while avoiding getting eaten himself by animals larger than him. By now he'd learned how to swim by floating on top of waterlogged reeds while avoiding crocodiles and piranhas, how to scale trees by swinging from vines while avoiding wild cats and snakes, and how to spot edible plants even when they were hidden deep within thick undergrowth. He never thought it would be possible that all this knowledge would once again be useful but little did he know it would serve as his ticket out of Ixtrem one day soon...

It was a pleasant afternoon at the beginning of summer when Abel left his village by himself with nothing but a spear and a netbag on his back so he could go hunting. The previous days had seen no signs of danger so the village was safe enough for him to leave alone on his own accord without drawing suspicion from the other villagers who were still skeptical about his skills after all these years. He headed east towards a nearby lake where he hoped to catch some fish for dinner later that night, confident that no Waygres nor other dangerous animals lurked nearby given what he'd learned during his Abiks training over a decade ago...
