The Dogstar was traveling through space, a small ship on its way to planet Rehua. The ship had been traveling for months now, and the crew was close to finishing their exploration work.

The ship's captain looked out the window of his cabin. He could see the planet in front of him, a giant blue orb spinning in space. It was beautiful, almost peaceful. The captain smiled, thinking back to how they got here in the first place.

It had been a long journey to Rehua. The Dogstar had made its way across many systems, planets, and stars before they had gotten there. They were running low on fuel and supplies when they got their target coordinates. They entered the system and started the search for habitable planets that would help them replenish their resources.

They found many planets, around ten in total, but only one stood out among all others. It was bigger than most of them, with massive oceans covering about seventy percent of its surface. The team landed on it and took samples from every corner of it's surface. They also found lifeforms on most continents, but none were intelligent enough to communicate with them in any meaningful way. They found a great variety of fauna and flora as well; trees that reached up to five hundred feet tall and animals both big and small roaming around them; reptiles looking so alien that the crew couldn't even tell if they were mammals or not; birds that looked just like Earth's eagles; insects of all shapes and sizes; fish of all kinds swimming in the numerous oceans; mammals living together in groups; reptiles living alone on rocks surrounded by waterfalls; insects living together underground; plants everywhere... It seemed like they were just picking at random places on the planet and finding life everywhere they went!

But it wasn't all good news: there was one problem with this planet. It was unstable. The scientists found evidence saying that this planet used to be more stable, with only minor changes here and there over time. But then something happened at some point: global warming broke out all over the planet, melting glaciers and raising the ocean levels on every continent until almost seventy percent of the landmasses were covered by water. After that happened, geologic events became more frequent as well: earthquakes became more common as did volcanic eruptions; Ice Ages started and ended quickly without any warning; tectonic plates shifted rapidly from one place to another without warning or reason... And everything seemed to be getting worse!

And this was just what they discovered in the small portion of land mass they explored! There was still ninety percent left unexplored!

The captain sighed silently as he heard his door open behind him. He turned around to see his first officer walking into his room with a tablet device in her hand. She handed it to him as he sat down on his chair behind his desk, then walked away without saying a word. He opened the folder she had given him and looked at some pictures inside it. Pictures of creatures he recognized on sight: giant crows with bird-like heads sticking out from beneath rocks; giant lizards making nests out of dead trees; short humanoids with no eyes anywhere near their face stumbling helplessly around an empty room... And then he saw something he couldn't recognize at all: a creature with no body whatsoever standing between two rocks while staring blankly forward as if nothing existed around it... At least not until it saw him looking at it from where he stood in front of his desk back home on board The Dogstar...
