The day started off like any other. A day with friends, a day to have fun and a day to hang out. We didn't know that would be our last normal day of our lives. I guess we should have seen it coming. You know the signs, something was off about today. It was odd weather for one. The sky was grey and dark, almost like a storm was rolling in but that's not possible right? We're in Africa, there are no storms here except for the occasional thunderstorm. We were also in the middle of nowhere. The closest town was two hours away...well village rather. Most people considered it a town but I wouldn't call it that if you catch my drift.

We were hiking up a mountain because we thought it looked cool when we saw it from far away on Google maps. Once we got to the top however, we got bored so we started throwing rocks at each other trying to knock each other down into the valley below us. Eventually some rocks rolled into the woods and that's when everything changed.

A rock landed right in front of a tree stump making a loud thud noise reverberate throughout the entire forest which caused some birds to fly out of their nests and start chirping louder than they were before. This led me to believe they were startled by something earlier on, causing them to go silent again as they flew back towards their homes within the trees ahead of us. Another rock hit my friend, Mike, square in the chest causing him to fall back onto his bum and slide down the slope of the hill towards a big rock sticking out of the ground where he promptly stopped himself by grabbing onto it for dear life. He got up and walked back up to where he was before he fell down, laughing at himself for sliding down an incline that wasn't even all that steep, in my opinion!

"What did you just do, man!" He asked me after composing himself from laughing so hard. "I mean, what just happened?" He asked again, still somewhat confused at my sudden rampage of rock throwing at him.

"Oh man! That was great! I've never seen you fall like that before, bro!" I said, finally catching my breath as Mike replied, "Well, thanks but why did you do that? Those rocks could have really hurt someone!"

"Nah, man, not you though! You're like a tank, just look at yourself, bro! They barely touched you, and look at you now! Nothing wrong with you!" I said pointing at him while laughing again as Mike replied with an annoyed look on his face, "Man, please don't throw any more rocks at me, or else I'm gonna beat your ass so bad!" He said, trying to sound tough but failed miserably as we both laughed once more together.

That's when we noticed something strange happened when Mike fell down this time around. There was a faint light emanating from underneath him next to where he was holding onto the rock. The rock was glowing bright white and had weird shapes around it, like strange letters or something. However, neither of us knew exactly what they meant since we couldn't read those kinds of weird letters or whatever language it was written in, but something told me those lights weren't there before Mike fell, because if they were, I would remember seeing them there earlier on.

Mike took out his compass, hoping to find some guidance or help to decipher the weird markings. As much as he searched, nobody seemed to know what language these markings were supposed to be written in. It was puzzling, as these markings seemed to emerge from nowhere only when I threw rocks at Mike.

Adding to the confusion, an aura emerged, emitting various colors and filling the sky, causing a spectacular display. It seemed to be interconnected with the events that transpired, making the world around us change colors. Everything appeared to be turning red, blue, yellow, and green, creating an almost hypnotic environment surrounding us.

Little did we know that this unexpected chain of events would lead us down a path we could never have anticipated, forever altering the course of our lives. We were about to embark on a journey filled with mystery, danger, and adventure, all sparked by the simple act of throwing rocks in the woods.
