Self-taught and eager to learn more, he explored his newfound affection in the games of chance. His anxieties, however, made picking up gambling difficult and his novice attempts at poker often ended in failure. That changed when he encountered Kutlwano, a peculiar girl with an impressive attitude and talents in the world of gambling. She helped Musoke to believe in himself, pushing him and teaching him strategies, until his strategies became refined.
After weeks training, Musoke was overcome with success when he won an intense poker tournament in a foreign city, wearing his newly-perfected strategy and experience as a badge of honor. Those same skills, however, were noticed by a secretive player named Eliab. Musoke and Eliab immediately became rivals, and Musoke somehow felt as if Eliab had been following them ever since they left the foreign city. Through a series of maliciousness and attempts to exploit, Eliab attempted to sabotage Musoke's newfound fame and wealth, even managing to take all his moneys. Resolute, however, Kutlwano helped Musoke plan revenge and win back his life’s fortune through a few strategic last maneuvers.
Their determination and confidence led them to organize a massive poker tournament with all of Eliab's rivals. Here, Musoke was tested in ways not even Kutlwano had anticipated. He fought a complex battle against a powerful group that had a strong strategy and was constantly throwing wrenches in Musoke’s plans. With nothing left to rely on but trust, Musoke dug deep within himself, finding his talents and excavating secrets of his professional life. His performance the tournament proved him to be the true master of the game and he was able to drive out Eliab from his rivals. Musoke and Kutlwano had reclaimed freedom, justice, and the following reputation of Musoke’s talent.
Musoke proudly returned home, embracing his newly-gained notoriety and success as a poker player. He had finally mastered the game on his own terms, despite all odds. He thanked Kutlwano for her support, silently acknowledging her great important role in his victory. His resilient character and newfound skills opened his eyes wider to possibilities in world beyond Africa's lands. For this newfound freedom was complete and with it, his passion for poker would forever stay alive.
