"This is utter nonsense."

"What?"

"There is absolutely no way that it could be here. I have searched every inch of this area, and there is nothing to be found."

"Are you certain?"

"Yes, I am positive. We are standing in the middle of an expansive, empty field. I do not understand what you were anticipating, but all that exists here is an abundance of grass and undesirable weeds. There are no buildings in sight, nor houses or any other form of structure."

The two men ceased their walking and exchanged glances. They had been searching tirelessly for days, and now that they had finally discovered the approximate location where they surmised the building was supposed to be situated, they were faced with the unsettling reality that there was nothing – no structure, no building, only a vast expanse of open land extending as far as the eye could make out.

"I cannot comprehend it," stated the first man. "Why on earth would someone convey to us that this place was here? It lacks any rationality!"

"I have no idea," confessed the second man, visibly irritated. "Perhaps they were intoxicated or under the influence of narcotics when they provided us with this information."

"But how could that even be possible? We conversed with them on merely two occasions!" The man scanned their surroundings once again, desperately attempting to locate anything that even faintly resembled a building. "This entire situation is peculiar. All of this – it defies logic." He gestured towards the environment enveloping them. "There is nothing out here." He proceeded to elaborate on their journey from one secluded town to another, with minimal information guiding them. Each town appeared to be an identical replica of its predecessor: indistinguishable houses inhabited by the same type of people, uniform shops, and so forth, until, at long last, they stumbled upon the place where things deviated from the norm: a previously nonexistent house belonging to someone who had never resided there before or since.

They had gathered the information about this enigmatic house by inquiring from locals if anyone was aware of an unusual abode in their town that had been present for an extended period yet remained devoid of any signs of life, such as individuals entering or leaving the premises. Then, quite suddenly, the house materialized out of thin air and lingered there for years without the slightest indication that anybody inhabited it or lived nearby, mainly because nothing seemed suspicious until people began vanishing, with only a lone survivor returning to speak of the horrifying sights he had witnessed within the house. It wasn't long before fear seized the townspeople as they abandoned their homes just as the enigmatic homeowner desired; she, a lonely individual who craved her own living space, was tired of being a social pariah due to her reclusive nature and marital issues stemming from her husband's unacknowledged preference for men instead of women. After enduring years of emotional distress, she killed her husband using a knife after having already been imprisoned – and then released – for the murder of her husband’s lover. However, it should be noted that her husband's death was not connected to her imprisonment, as the townspeople neglected to believe her capable of the act despite the existence of numerous witnesses.

Overwhelmed by a collective amnesia, the townsfolk continued with their lives following her release, acting as if nothing had transpired until shared memories were rekindled years later when an outsider posed questions regarding the peculiar house. The residents reluctantly obliged, recounting how two distinct towns were once separated by a bustling highway filled with millions of cars traveling in both directions – an unusual phenomenon considering that the only occupants of the surrounding area were the two small communities on either side of this busy road. The first man sighed deeply, and then concluded his account: "But then one day, a series of extraordinary events took place..."
