Alpha - Justice Unforgiven
·
Published 1/3/2023Alpha, an unstoppable telekinetic vigilante, must balance his duty as a determining justice-seeker with the tender responsibility of being a father in the urban dystopia of Century City, where an answering question of forgiveness will inevitably arise.
Beyond the endless tumult of Big City life lay the technological utopia of Century City. Tall skyscrapers and luminous neon light fades the starry night sky, yet one self-proclaimed hero stands tall and defiant amongst the bustle. He goes by the name of Alpha and is a threat to all criminals and anything that dawns to disrupt the harmony of the city. It was a typical day in the city and Alpha was out patrolling, seeking out the villains and paying them back with his unique brand of justice. But as luck would have it, on this particular day, Alpha got a tip about a brother and sister on the run from a gang. Alpha sought to find them and offer help, but he ran into a bunch of street goons at their safehouse. A kind-hearted, heart-pounding fight broke out in the lonely alleyway. Alpha's formidable telekinetic talents quickly dispatched the criminals, but in the process, he noticed an eight year old girl, Lydia, hiding in a corner. He quickly suspected whom the girl belonged to and caught a glimpse of her face... his own face. Alpha had to stifle his shock as he knew what she was his daughter. His estranged daughter. And all the time he could have been spending, practicing being a father, was instead spent being a vigilante.
Alpha and his daughter had been reunited, but a newfound difficultly presented itself. He was a known vigilante who hunted the wrong-doers of the city and she was a young child who he now had to take care of. How could one man protect and care for the people using justice and violence, but also protect and care for his innocent daughter? Try as hard and thought as violently he could, Alpha decided that the only way he could make this work is he would have to balance both roles and be a badass vigilante father living in 2 worlds that often times may not see eye to eye. Faced with formidable odds, Alpha settled into his own different and difficult modus operandi; visiting his daughter during the day, looking after her safety, ranging the big city breathing out mighty justice at night. It was clear that Alpha's daughter had no idea that he was the one bearing justice wide and restore harmony to the city. She knows her dad only as Abraham, her introverted and occasional sickly good-humored father who conjured boring mixes of stories from frontier dusty red past. However, she noticed an ethereal strength that depicted his persona and knew something was off.
At first, Alpha's life seemed to work. He would have plenty of time to save the city and still have enough time to properly look after his daughter. But the stresses of the vigilante life followed him home. Alpha would have nightmares at night of all of the criminals he was unable to apprehend or of those he did apprehend that were eventually let out due to technicalities. Worse still, his daughter started to make the connection between Alpha and Abraham he was a fugitive of justice who wasn't able to keep them safe. Then one night while out on a mission, Alpha was injured by a large metal creature that crashed through the alleyway wall. For the first time, Alpha allowed himself to feel fear and guilt. He had promised his daughter he'd make it back home safely, yet here he was, almost unable to move. The heavy metal creature moved in on Alpha and Lydia ran to help him. Desperate to keep his daughter safe, Alpha used his telekinetic powers to stop the creature. As Alpha yelled out to his daughter to stay back, red streams of power crackled from his finger tips and he sent the creature out of the alleyway, soaring in the sky. The experience changed Alpha's perception of his power and for the first time, he felt he wanted to focus more on his own daughter's safety.
Alpha had a radical change to his ideals why must he a vigilante alone? If he could train his daughter and make her his partner, why shouldn't they be able to fight evil together? So Alpha slowly revealed to his daughter the truth about his abilities and reluctantly Lydia was forced to understand past consequence of his rule-breaking justice that often times came in deadly terms. Father and daughter committed themselves to learn alpha's various techniques and peculiar strategies to combat evil. For once, Alpha wasn't alone anymore and he felt that same drug in his veins that he first experienced when saving people. It took them months before they were able to use their new powers effortless to combat crime and they eventually succeeded in protecting their city from the various humanoid robots and programmed foes the big city had to offer. And the two father-daughter duo soon after adopted name BeZ, portmanteau of the two surnames of his daughter and his Fields-Zaka. At this point, Alpha perfected his balance of being both a father and a powerful warrior bent on justice. He had learned that danger doesn't always come from felons as danger can come in many shapes and sizes and that nobody knows when a thick wall between justice and life can be broken. Alpha & Lydia bond grew ever stronger. Two vigilantes, father and daughter both based on justice, but above all else, love.
