Fahdy and Darth Munchies: The Misadventures of an Unlikely Duo

“I just don't think we should be doing this,” said Fahdy.

“And why not?” asked Munchies, “we're the only ones who can.”

Fahdy didn't have an answer to that. They had been slowly climbing up a ladder for hours now and he was exhausted. He watched as his hamster friend nimbly ran up the next few rungs and then turned to wait for him, “you're not getting tired are you?”

Fahdy sighed and continued on up the ladder, determined not to let his hamster friend down. After a few more minutes they had reached their destination: the roof of a tall building. Fahdy's eyes widened as he saw their objective: a small cage held in place by four strong chains with a little golden key hanging from it.

The two allies quickly made their way across the rooftop. Fahdy took out a tiny crowbar that he had swiped from his construction job and started to pick the lock on the cage while Munchies kept watch. After several agonizing moments the door popped open and there was the key. Fahdy picked it off its chain and smiled at Munchies, but Munchies wasn't smiling back. He looked like he had seen a ghost.

“What's wrong?” asked Fahdy, “We did it! We're going to take over the world!”

Munchies put his paw on Fahdy's shoulder and pointed down at something in front of them. A little black box with red lights blinking out of it lay in front of them with a single word printed onto it: 'DANGER'. Slowly Fahdy walked towards it and crouched down beside it. He looked back at Munchies questioningly before pressing down on the button that was just waiting for him to press it. The flashing red lights continued to flash, but nothing else happened. Munchies seemed satisfied by this, so after an anxious moment Fahdy picked up the black box and slipped into his jacket pocket.

As they were making their way back down the ladder, Fahdy couldn't help but wonder what this black box could be that would make Munchies so afraid of it, “what exactly is that thing anyway? It seems like you've seen one before...”

“Well yeah I've seen one before... But I never thought I'd see one again... Do you remember when we first met? When I saved you from those thugs in the alleyway?”

Fahdy nodded and waited for Munchies to continue, “afterwards I told you how I got my start right? How I used to be just a normal hamster until I became super smart? And how I gained my followers by convincing them all that eating too many carbs was bad for their health?”

Fahdy nodded again and tried to understand where the story was going, “well some time later my agent sent me out on an audition for this new movie... And I went... And it was horrible... It was just awful... And then one night I saw those same thugs harassing some other poor guy and I decided to intervene... but then one of them pulled out a gun! And I panicked! And then suddenly there was this bright light! And then everything went dark! The next thing I knew there was a terrible pain in my belly! And when I woke up there were these young actors standing above me asking me if I wanted some carrots... Then they called me Darth Munchies because they thought they were being funny... But they weren't funny at all... They were mean... So mean... And now here we are today trying to take over the world together! Together against those Hollywood types who won't cast us in movies! We're going to show them just how talented we really are! We're going to show them that we can make our own movies! Because after all who better than us could possibly direct or act or write or produce or even carry equipment?! No one that's who! So let's go back home and get started on our first feature length film production!"
