Lumine and Ningguang's Wanderings

From the outside, it’s easy to mistake their friendship as a mother and daughter relationship.

The one who takes care of her and the obedient one who follows her advice.

But if you look closely, there’s another side to their relationship.

One that is more lustful than any romance movie could ever be.

Sometimes they act like they are in love with each other.

And sometimes they hold back their feelings and behave like friends.

They are an odd couple, but they are happy like this.

It was a rainy day when Ningguang took Lumine on their first trip together.

She was so excited she didn’t take off her coat even though the plane had taken off.

Ningguang kept telling her that she needs to put it on, but she didn’t listen because she was too excited to hear about where they were going.

“Why do we have to go? I don’t want to leave our place!” said Lumine as she rubbed her eyes after waking up from a nap.

Ningguang smiled and picked up some clothes for them to wear.

“Because the big event is happening soon! You don’t want to miss it right?” asked Ningguang as she handed Lumine the clothes and walked out of the room while changing into a new set of clothes herself.

Lumine followed her trying to put on her top while walking at the same time. “What kind of event?”

“The Genshin Impact! It's a popular online game in America! You don't know about it? Why aren't you interested in things outside? You play that stupid game all day! You can't see what's happening outside but you want to focus all your attention on that game! Are you ignoring me or something!? Has mother been ignored by you!? Are you planning to ignore your mother forever!? Do you hate me!? Tell me everything now!!”

Lumine finally got dressed, and then looked at Ningguang with a confused look on her face. “No… That's not true… I just didn't know there was an event in America that we can go watch… I would like to go see it if there is one…” She smiled innocently and continued, “But aren't we supposed to wait for father before we go anywhere else? He always tells us not to go anywhere without him… Shouldn't we tell him about this first?”

Ningguang went quiet for a moment when she heard Lumine say that, then she took a deep breath and calmed herself down before telling Lumine about why they should go see it without telling father first. “The event is happening on Saturday night, but if we get there too late then we'll miss everything, so we have no choice but to go now... But don't worry about father because he won't find out about this! We will just tell him that we went shopping together today... Ok? Now let's hurry up and get ready so we can leave now! We need to get there before dark or else we won't make it in time... Hurry up... Go pack your stuff already! And put on your shoes! I'm taking you with me whether you want me to or not! Now hurry up! Go pack your stuff already!! I'm going crazy here waiting for you!!! Hurry up!!!”

Ningguang started throwing things around while shouting at Lumine while Lumine ran into her room quickly and started packing her things. It was then that she realized that tonight would be the first time she goes outside alone with Ningguang since her father had passed away almost two years ago from an accident in his lab. He had always been there with them on their adventures, looking out for their safety and sharing beautiful memories.

As she hastily grabbed her belongings, memories of her late father filled her mind. She could still remember the laughter they shared and the carefree days when they explored new places together. It was as if she was reliving those moments—a nostalgic mix of joy, enchantment, and melancholy intertwined in every memory.

Lumine quickly packed her things and tried to mentally prepare for this adventure with Ningguang, knowing that from now on, it would be just the two of them. Nevertheless, she was certain they would create new memories to cherish, even as they continued to honor the love and guidance her father had provided.

As she finished packing, Lumine took a deep breath, determined to step into this new chapter of life with an open heart and an adventurous spirit, hand-in-hand with Ningguang.
