Spaces between Time: The Mars Mission Adventure

The time machine was a marvel of modern technology. It had taken years of research and development to design, build, and perfect, but now it was ready. The team of scientists that made the machine had been working long hours for months to ensure that everything would go off without a hitch. The moment to test their work had finally arrived.

"Three..." Tirus Rallicers said. He stood at the head of the table, his two coworkers flanking him on either side. "Two..." The three scientists glanced at one another and gripped each other's hands tightly. "One." With a unified yell, the three men pulled down on the lever, starting their journey into history.

The machine sprung to life as it began its cycle. It let out a high-pitched whirring sound as it revved up its power, filling the room with a loud humming noise. The air got colder as ice crystals formed on the scientists' skin and clothes. A blinding flash of light filled the room, forcing them to close their eyes as they all squeezed each other's hands even tighter.

The tense moment passed quickly, however, as the room returned to its normal temperature and brightness within seconds after leaving the vortex behind. The three peered around them to find themselves in an unknown place and time. No longer were they in the lab they had created and tested their machine in; instead they were standing in what appeared to be an ancient city filled with large stone buildings that seemed to reach into the sky like skyscrapers from our modern era. The ground beneath their feet was covered in dirt and rock chips that crunched under their shoes as they walked forward towards one of the buildings to take a look inside.

The three scientists entered through an open doorway and quickly realized that this was not an ancient city after all; this was something else entirely! They were confused by what they saw before them; there were people walking around everywhere dressed in strange clothes and speaking an unknown language! There were also bizarre devices all over the place that didn't make any sense! Some people used strange winged machines with wheels instead of feet while others rode animals that looked like lizards or snakes but walked upright like humans! Instead of cars moving down roads there were large metal things moving along tracks instead! What was going on? Did they accidentally travel back in time? If so then how far had they gone? Were they back before recorded history? Was this even Earth at all?

The scientists wandered around aimlessly for several minutes until a group of young men dressed in blue tunics approached them with raised swords and shields in hand. The leader pointed his sword at them threateningly while shouting something unintelligible at them before he gave his men a signal to attack! One of the men threw a spear towards them which flew past them just barely before bouncing off one of the buildings behind them making everyone duck for cover instinctively! Another man aimed his bow at them but one of the scientists kicked it out of his hand causing him to drop it while another scientist grabbed onto his arm while pulling him down onto his knees before disarming him once he fell! Now outnumbered three against one, all four men surrendered peacefully after being disarmed by Tirus who spoke soothingly to each man individually while helping each of them pick up their weapons before walking away from them together back towards where they came from before being stopped by someone shouting after them frantically who quickly caught up with them before speaking some more incomprehensible words quietly too softly for any of them to hear clearly before pointing at himself then pointing at each person then pointing back towards where they came from before repeating himself once again louder this time which caused Tirus to nod slowly and understand what he meant before turning towards his colleagues who nodded back at him knowingly before continuing towards where they came from together as best friends...
