The sun was setting, and I had a problem.

I'd been shopping in the town to buy some clothes, but all that remained of my budget was enough for one item. It had to be something good, too. I even bought this super-cool pair of red and black gloves with little metal claws on the ends. They looked like they wouldn't be too useful in a fight or anything, but they were a fashion statement. People would know who I was by those gloves.

I'd tried on top after top after top at an ultra-chic boutique, trying to find just the right thing to wear, and now there was nothing left but one piece of clothing that looked more than a little ridiculous: A skintight white leather tube top with a slick red heart in the center.

It wasn't really my style. At least not as much as the black corset I had put back on the rack and sighed over while putting on the tube top over my equally ridiculous red latex dress. But it didn't look like there would be any other options that I liked in this store!

I sighed and glanced at myself in the mirror. The tube top clung to every curve of my body, leaving me with just enough coverage to avoid indecent exposure laws. I thought about taking it off and putting something else on, but then I realized that if I did that, I might not have anything else to wear when I got home. Maybe I could get away with wearing it out of the store?

The bell rang as the door opened, and I turned quickly to see who was walking in-- only to see nothing but darkness outside the store's window! The sun had set already!

"Hmph," I said aloud, turning back toward the mirror again to fix my hair in case someone walked by intending to come into the store before noticing that it was closed for the day.... but suddenly I heard footsteps again-- heavy footsteps approaching quickly from behind me-- and turned back around just in time to see an enormous man step through the door!

He was dressed head-to-toe in black leather armor, though his face was visible behind a mask that resembled a blood-soaked skull. Without even looking at me, he turned and locked the door behind him as soon as he entered before turning back toward me... or rather toward my reflection in the mirror! He reached up above his head and pulled down what appeared to be a sword from where it hung on a hook... then brought his hand up to his helmeted face and pulled off his mask.

His eyes met mine in the mirror with a force so powerful that it felt like he had punched me right between them! My breath caught in my throat as if he had physically stopped me from breathing.... Then he smiled slightly as he walked toward me... and stopped dead just inches away from my backside!

"Hello there," he said softly, his voice deep and husky... "I've been waiting for you."
