The story begins with Donald Duck, walking alone and homeless on the war-torn ruins of planet Earth. Against ominous storm clouds emanating across the world, Donald Ducks survives by scavenging food and finds shelter in the apocalyptic dystopia. Then one day, against the odds, Donald comes across a mystical and mythical France, untouched by the devastation. Curious, Donald embarks on a journey through the mythical realm and onto a path of adventure and terror.

It is not long before Donald realizes that somewhere deep within this realm, someone or something is scouring for his soul. With every step, monsters and creaks lurk in the shadows. Will Donald be able to prove his innocence and safety?

Donald soon finds himself wedged in the middle of a gritty mountain range at the top town of Cernos, deemed sacred to the gods. This is the place of gathering for adventurers and vagabonds and heralded as an area of power. Ancient creatures, some of which are armed with long serrated blades, are determined to use the many hidden portals for free passage between worlds, regardless of the consequences.

At the summit hill of The Temple, legendary warlords await Donald’s arrival, as they had once heard of his curious griffin-like markings upon his shoulders. As he approaches, Donald can sense their curiosity and suspicion as to what he is doing here, and they go on to interrogate him. It quickly becomes clear that they are seeking the same thing that Donald is: the powers of the ancient gods.

Donald musters the courage to explain that he’s there to find out what has gone wrong on Earth and why humanity is locked in a continual cycle of devastation. With this, an unsettling silence falls upon the room, for he knows too much and has become a liability.

After a long and difficult conversation, Donald accepts his fate and embarks on a mission to seek out answers from the gods themselves, but first he must prove he’s worthy. He musters the courage and curiosity of the ancient creatures and people of the realm and learns valuable lessons of the past, including crafts and trades, weapons and magic, food and shelter. It is only after he learns this information that he is deemed worthy and allowed entry into a hidden temple.

Donald finally finds himself in a chamber with the gods themselves. With a hint of distrust still in the air, Donald must persuade the gods to bestow upon him the key to ending the near extinction of humankind.

With a heap of uncertainty, Donald swallows his fear and stands his ground. Through brief confirmations of loyalty, knowledge and undeniable trustworthiness, the gods slowly begin to open up to him. After several attempts at appeasing, Donald finally earns the gods’ trust and speaks out passionately, their intensity and desperation alarming the gods.

With great hesitation, they finally offer him the one key to saving humankind and set him on his final mission: to go beyond his ordinary human boundaries, to brave a mysterious and powerful realm wherein Donald must lead an army to reclaim the planet from its own grim destiny. As a reward of courage, loyalty and trust, the gods also reveals hidden reservoirs of magic and insight that Donald must weave together in order to have any chance.

The stakes have been set and Donald must do everything and anything to traverse a world filled with treacherous creatures, dark secrets, and overwhelming stakes. Donald and the gods devise a plan for the army’s success. With a heavy heart, and a determination few can measure up to, Donald plunges deep into a world of the unknown, where his proverbs, nurtured strength and powerful details win the day.

Donald and his agents must face one dreaded foe after another, sometimes relying on guile, other times on exceptional strength. After a sometimes desolating cycle of victories and defeats, weary but undeterred, Donald and his ever-swelling army eventually finds themselves in the center of a great court—all the other warlords and creatures quietly waiting for the final decision.

The stakes have risen, but with a poised yet determined mind, a steady breath, and a resolve of pure metal, Donald speaks loud and strong to a stunned audience of creatures and warlords. He reminds them of brave fights, battles won and lost, and their collective successes and failures. He then reaches inside himself, calling onto his rapidly growing power, and uses just the right words to convince them of a better outcome.

As the gods marvel at how far Donald has come, and with one small last step left to go, Donald miraculously proves himself to be the best possible leader to save the planet and its inhabitants. The gods, creatures and all spectators alike are left in awe of what he has become and all can agree, Donald had succeeded in his quest— to win back the planet from its own grim destiny.

Act 1 - End of the Beginning:
Set in a small rural town late in the Renaissance, the story focuses on a young girl called Eliza who notices strange disturbances around her town. One day, mysterious duck quacks can be heard emanating from the forests. When Eliza investigates, she discovers a stranger wearing a black trenchcoat and top hat resembling a Victorian homeless gentleman. He introduces himself as Donald Duck and states that he's here to help Eliza prepare for the upcoming Crisis. He warns of an entire race of Ducks taking to the skies in the future to claim the planet as theirs.

Act 2 - Midpoint: 
Donald's counsel becomes meaningful and Eliza soon joins the ranks of those willing to stand up against the impending invasion. While travelling through Eliza's hometown, Donald explains the politics surrounding the Ducks and the state of the planet from his perspective. He encourages Eliza to strategize, hoping to sway her people to prepare for the war to come. Despite her efforts, trouble sparks in different parts of town—from the death of a villager to the burning of the council house—and it's clear the people aren't ready to resist the Ducks. As Eliza seeks to protect her home, it becomes increasingly obvious that she needs help.

Act 3 - Crisis:
Eliza turns to Donald as her ally then and they convince the townsfolk to unite and fight the Ducks together. With Donald's vast knowledge, Eliza organizes a militia complete with training and weapons, hoping to have her people prepared for the Ducks' invasion. They combat fires caused by Duck migrations and citizens must make difficult choices. Conflicts and battles inflict casualties and wounds on both sides of the fight. In spite of the pain of loss, Eliza pushes her force forward, hoping to see her people prevail in the struggle.

Act 4 - Climax:
With their militia honed and well equipped, Eliza and Donald face the Ducks in a climactic battle that sees the fate of the planet hang in the balance. Duels ensue both in the air and on the ground and despite the odds, Eliza's side makes a comeback that shakes the Ducks to the core. The Ducks retreat and the war is brought to an end with cheers and exultations as Eliza stands in triumph with her people. But despite their apparent victory, Eliza and Donald are aware that this is not the end. The future of humanity - and ducks - will remain uncertain until they continue to fight to protect their world.
