The first thing I remember about the beginning of my relationship with Baj is the smell of his wet hair.

It was raining outside, a typical early summer rain in Singapore. Baj and I were sitting at a café, faces obscured under the flaps of our umbrellas. My elbows were propped on the table, chin in my hands. The raindrops rolled down the clear plastic of my umbrella, and splashed onto my soggy shoes.

“What are you thinking about?” he asked me, voice gentle and low.

I stared at him for a moment before answering. He had straight black hair that always stuck out in all directions, as if he spent his whole life running his hands through it. His eyes were brown and soft, like a puppy’s. I knew immediately that I wanted to do something terrible to this beautiful man.

“I don’t know,” I replied honestly.

He ordered us both iced coffees from the waiter, who nodded respectfully and walked off to get them. Baj turned back to me and smiled again, that irresistible puppy smile that seemed to say “I love you so much!” even when he wasn’t saying anything out loud. I felt an immediate rush of adrenaline at seeing his grin; my heart pounded in my chest, but not because of the rain that continued to pour down around us.

We sat in silence for a while after the waiter left with our order; we both just watched each other silently, contented smiles on our faces. We didn’t need words to communicate what we were feeling at that moment—it was just one of those silences where everything was understood between two people who really wanted to fuck each other’s brains out. I tried not to think about how wet my pants were getting from the rainwater soaking into them from being outside all day today; it didn’t matter anyway, because all of these thoughts disappeared instantly when Baj reached over and placed his hand on mine. My skin was hot from being under my umbrella all this time, but his palm felt cool against mine, which made me shiver pleasantly. He didn’t move his hand for a few seconds, but eventually took it away as the waiter came back with our coffee orders set on small wooden trays with handles on both ends, tray bottoms covered with little round pieces of paper to keep them from sliding off onto the floor if they were bumped around too much. The waiter bowed slightly before walking away again. Baj picked up his cup in both hands, blew across its top lightly for a second or so until steam rose up from its surface, then took a sip through the tiny hole on its side where a straw would normally go through—he told me later that he liked it better without a straw anyway because “that way there isn’t anything to accidentally knock into your mouth while you drink it."

He sighed happily as he put down his cup, wiped some of its condensation off onto his sleeve before taking another sip. When he put it down again and opened his eyes again, he caught me staring at him; I looked down guiltily and pretended to be more interested in my own drink than him until I heard him chuckle softly above me and looked up to see him smiling mischievously at me again and raising his eyebrows questioningly at me in that “are you ready?” face that could only mean one thing: sex tonight!

My heart skipped excitedly inside of my chest as I realized what the look meant; I smiled coyly back at him under my umbrella shield as we both pretended not to notice each other looking away again quickly after we finished looking at each other long enough for our attraction to be shown clearly by looks alone without needing any words—this was one of those moments when verbal communication simply wasn't needed between us anymore because we already knew everything we needed to know about each other's feelings for one another...

He reached over and took my hand again, this time squeezing it gently. "Come on," he said, a glimmer of mischief in his eyes. "Let's get out of this rain."

I eagerly followed him as he stood up, our umbrellas still raised above our heads. We left behind our half-empty cups of coffee on the table, no longer needing the caffeinated lifeline to fuel the electricity pulsating between us.

The rain seemed to pour even harder as we stepped out onto the bustling streets of Singapore. It created a symphony of glistening droplets against the neon-lit backdrop of the city. The sound was intoxicating, almost like a secret song that only we could hear.

Baj led me through the maze of streets, his grip on my hand never faltering. We dashed past crowded markets and hidden alleyways, the rain drenching us completely, our laughter floating through the air like ethereal music. It was as if the city itself conspired with us, celebrating the beginning of our connection.

Eventually, we found ourselves in a quieter part of town, where the rain seemed to let up a little. Baj looked back at me, his black hair clinging to his face and neck, his eyes twinkling with anticipation.

"Just a little further," he said, his voice laced with excitement.

And then, like an oasis amidst the concrete jungle, we stumbled upon a hidden park. Its lush greenery seemed untouched by the chaos of the city. Baj led me to a secluded spot beneath a gigantic tree, its branches offering us shelter from the rain.

We stood there in our soaked clothes, breathing heavily, our hearts pounding in unison. Baj reached up and pushed back his hair, revealing his charming smile that made my knees weak.

"Are you ready?" he whispered, his voice barely audible above the sound of raindrops.

I nodded eagerly, unable to form any coherent words. There was a magnetic pull between us, drawing us closer with every passing second.

And then, in a surge of passion, he kissed me. It was a kiss filled with longing, with urgency, and with unspoken promises. The rain continued to fall around us, creating a symphony of waterdrops mixing with the fervor of our embrace.

In that moment, it felt as though time stood still. Nothing else mattered except for the connection we shared. It was a connection that transcended the physical, a meeting of souls that left us breathless.

We clung to each other, our bodies pressed together, sheltered by the giant tree and the heavy rain. The world around us faded away, leaving only the raw intensity of our love.

When our lips finally parted, we stood there, foreheads touching, catching our breaths. The rain continued to cascade down around us, but it was no longer an inconvenience. It was a symbol of the passion and freedom that had ignited between us.

And as I looked into Baj's eyes, I knew that this was just the beginning. Our love story would be painted with countless rainstorms, each one carrying the same intoxicating scent of his wet hair and the promise of a love that defied all odds.
