"What the fuck!"

A dozen women ran, screaming and crying, from a dimly lit room. The words of their cries were drowned out by the sound of shattering glass and gunfire. In an instant, the room went from a luxurious bedroom to a battlefield, with furniture and debris scattered about. And in that same instant, two men stood face to face in the center of it all.

One was tall and lanky, dressed in a three piece suit so finely tailored that it made him look like a flawlessly sculpted statue of a man. His black hair was slicked back with an elegance that didn't seem possible. The other was shorter, and wore what appeared to be rags. He had long black hair that was dirty enough to appear almost blue, and his skin was so dark it looked almost purple.

The figure in the suit fired once more at the stranger before him. A bullet hit him in the chest, but as soon as it did he let out a laugh that echoed through the hallways beyond. The gunshot wound closed up before their eyes. Then, he reached down and grabbed the gun out of his attacker's hand, crushing it into a pile of twisted metal with one hand while still holding onto his weapon with the other. He threw it aside and just laughed again before raising his weapon up high.

"This is who you sent after me?" He said in mocking disbelief at what stood before him. "You honestly thought this would work? You're not even human! What fool would try to fight you?"

"You know what? I don't give a shit about you," said Mr. X as he raised his own weapon to meet his target's challenge. "This is between me and your bitch!"

Just then, Mr. X's weapon began to glow brightly as he pointed it at his enemy's head. The light was so intense that everyone had to shield their eyes against it; they could only see the brilliant white that shone through their fingers as they covered their faces. When they looked back up, there was no sign of Mr. X standing there anymore; instead he was hovering several feet above inside of a glowing red circle inscribed on the floor around him. The entire room had changed dramatically too; everything was darker now than it had been before they started shooting at each other- every person present could feel themselves being drained somehow by something they couldn't see or feel- but most of them understood that they were probably suspended inside some kind of forcefield now for some reason beyond their understanding- maybe even Mr. X himself knew why he found himself where he did now, but certainly none of them did- and all around them the sky outside had turned from black to deep crimson red; even at this distance away from Earth itself everyone could feel the heat rising from it all around them now as if they were standing outside on its surface directly- even though when they looked back towards Earth itself, it seemed just fine where it always had been for many millennia past: spinning around its own axis serenely without a care in the world for how much trouble these few people might be in right now if their plan didn't work out perfectly like they thought it would...
