“Hello, crew.”

The voice was loud and clear, yet it seemed to be emanating from everywhere at once. The sound bounced off the walls of the cave in a way that made it impossible to tell which direction it was coming from. The three of them stood there, frozen, staring at each other with wide eyes and gaping mouths as the sound continued to reverberate through the cavern.

“If you are hearing this message, then it means you have breached the first of my traps. Thank you for your cooperation. I am afraid I will not be able to reward you with my treasure; however, if you make it through the rest of my maze unscathed, and solve the final riddle left behind by my ancestors, then perhaps we can reach an agreement that benefits all parties involved.”

“That sounds like a reasonable offer, right?” said Harris to his companions. “Maybe we should just leave now…” His suggestion was met with an immediate refusal from both Hanna and Kordelio. They had worked too hard for this opportunity to simply walk away now; they weren't going to turn back until they knew for sure that their efforts had been in vain.

They decided to continue down the tunnel and follow where it led them. As they walked along, they began noticing strange markings on the walls every so often - a lot more than they would have expected for such a small passage. They were mostly unrecognizable symbols or strange tools that looked like something out of an ancient civilization's toolbox, but one symbol stuck out from all of them: A large circular image with red borders that was drawn in the very center of each wall they passed by. It reminded Harris of the star that had risen above Mount Narnia when they entered this land; he wondered whether it could be some kind of hint that could help them locate the hidden city sooner rather than later. He wanted to investigate further, but Hanna immediately stopped him before he could get too far away from her and Kordelio - she didn't want any of them getting lost in these caverns without her or Kordelio there to call out to them and guide them back toward where they had started from.

It didn't take long for them to start seeing piles of bones scattered across the floor of the caverns - human bones mostly - though there were some animal skeletons mixed in as well. There were no obvious signs indicating how these people had died - no blood stains or injuries left behind on their bodies - making it impossible for Harris' group to figure out why so many people had ended up dying down here over time… and how long ago had all these deaths occurred? Had hundreds of years passed since someone last stumbled upon this place? How many lives had been lost inside these mountains? These questions were rattling around in their heads as they continued onward through the tunnels… until Harris stepped on something unexpected while walking forward and tripped over himself, bruising his leg against a rock as he fell down onto his hands and knees on the rocky floor underneath him.

That was when he noticed what he had tripped over: A small metal box was laying on the ground before him with several holes drilled into its top face - four circular holes arranged into a diamond-shaped pattern around another hole that seemed much larger than the others… which appeared identical to the symbol emblazoned on every wall within this cave! Right next to this metallic object was a length of wood that appeared to be a stick of some sort, along with what looked like a piece of paper sitting atop it measuring about 10 centimeters wide by 8 centimeters tall… next to that was a pile of ash with what looked like writing engraved onto its surface from when something had previously been written onto it before burning into ash…

Hanna stumbled over toward Harris after hearing him fall over with a startled yelp, followed closely by Kordelio who ran over after seeing Hanna rush forward toward his friend's position… still clutching onto only one end of her torch rather than both ends like before because she'd been carrying it loosely between two fingers at her side instead of clasping both hands tightly around its length like she usually did when walking through tight spaces like this one. After arriving next to Harris and crouching down beside him while placing a hand gently on his shoulder, Hanna leaned herself forward towards him so that her ear was right next to his mouth… then she heard him weakly whisper something into her ear before slowly falling unconscious onto his backside again as he tried desperately trying to keep himself awake despite being knocked out cold by his fall earlier:

“Hanna...find the key...save yourself...”

Hanna's heart skipped a beat as she processed Harris' words. What did he mean by "find the key"? And why did he say to save herself? It was clear that Harris knew something they didn't, something that posed a threat to their safety. She looked down at the metal box and the wooden stick next to it. Could this be the key he was referring to?

With trembling hands, Hanna picked up the stick and examined it closely. It was smooth and polished, with intricate carvings etched along its length. It felt strangely warm in her palms, as if it held some kind of power within it. She turned her attention to the paper on top of it and carefully unfolded it. The writing on it was faded and barely legible, but she managed to make out a few words and symbols.

"…unlock the doors of time…embrace the fire…seek the truth within…"

The riddle intrigued her, but it provided no clear answers. She glanced over at Kordelio, who had been watching the scene unfold with a mixture of concern and curiosity. Together, they needed to figure out the meaning behind these enigmatic clues and find a way to save Harris.

As they pondered their next move, the cave seemed to shift around them. The walls began to pulsate with a dim, eerie light, revealing hidden passages that they hadn't noticed before. The air grew heavy with anticipation, as though the very cave itself was trying to guide them towards the answers they sought.

Following their instincts, Hanna and Kordelio ventured deeper into the caverns, tracing the path illuminated by the mysterious glow. Each step they took brought them closer to the heart of the labyrinth, where they sensed the source of the danger and the key to their survival awaited.

After what felt like an eternity of winding tunnels and treacherous drops, they reached a massive chamber. The walls were adorned with ancient symbols, depicting scenes of otherworldly landscapes and celestial beings. In the center of the chamber stood a pedestal, upon which rested a magnificent golden key, covered in intricate filigree.

Hanna's heart raced as she recognized the key from the symbol they had seen throughout the cave. It was the answer they had been searching for, the key that would unlock the doors of time and reveal the truth within. But the question remained: How did they use it? And what awaited them on the other side?

Taking a deep breath, Hanna reached out and carefully grasped the golden key. As soon as her fingers touched its cool surface, she felt a surge of energy course through her body. The once silent chamber filled with a deafening roar, as though the very fabric of reality was being torn apart.

Suddenly, a blinding light enveloped everything. Hanna and Kordelio shielded their eyes, their bodies shaking with anticipation. When the light finally subsided, they found themselves standing in a vast, open field, bathed in the soft glow of a setting sun.

They had entered a world beyond their wildest imaginations, a place that existed outside of time and space. As they looked around, they realized that this was the hidden city they had been searching for all along. It was a city of wonders, untouched by the passage of time, filled with knowledge and treasures beyond measure.

But amidst the grandeur, there was a deep sense of foreboding. The city held secrets, ancient and dark, waiting to be uncovered. Their journey had only just begun, and the challenges that lay ahead would test their wits, their courage, and their bond as a team.

Hanna turned to Kordelio, her eyes filled with determination. "We need to find the truth within this city," she said, her voice steady. "For Harris and for ourselves. Whatever lies ahead, we face it together."

Kordelio nodded, his expression mirroring her resolve. They had come this far, overcoming traps and riddles, risking their lives for the promise of treasure and adventure. But now, they were in the heart of the unknown, surrounded by the whispers of forgotten civilizations. And they were ready to uncover the truth, no matter the cost.
