I sat in the back seat of the cab, my head against the window, eyes closed. I just wanted to get there already. My Mom had dropped me off that morning to go to a sleepover at Lila's house. It was apparently a big deal and it was going to be a blast. I was excited! We were all going to stay up late watching movies and eating ice cream and junk food. That part didn't sound so bad, but I had the worst hangover in history ever.

I felt like death.

I'd been at the party last night with my best friends Sam and Lila, dancing and laughing and having fun until we couldn't do any more of anything. The three of us have been friends since we were little kids and this was our first big party. I don't remember much from last night to be honest, but I knew that we'd had a good time. A very good time.

My phone started buzzing next to me on the seat and I opened my eyes slowly, wincing as the light hurt them for a second before they adjusted. I stretched out my legs and picked up my phone, rubbing my eyes before answering it. "Yeah?" I croaked as clearly as possible into the receiver while opening my eyes again slowly, squinting against the daylight glaring through the windows of the car.

"Pippa? Sweetie? You okay?" My mom asked from the other end of the phone, her voice sounding worried. She's always been overly concerned about me since I got sick when I was 8 years old. She's never gotten over it either, despite doctors telling her that there's nothing wrong with me anymore. "You sound like hell." She told me sympathetically, sounding very kind and motherly now that she'd decided that I wasn't dying or something.

"Nah Mom.." I replied with a slight giggle at her concern for my well being despite myself "I'm fine," I added quickly after realizing how rude my previous response must have sounded; "I just had a really good time last night... you know?" I explained with another small laugh at myself for thinking that she wouldn't know what I meant by 'a really good time'. My mom knew exactly what 'a really good time' meant because she probably did it herself back in her day; not that she would ever admit it! She might be overly protective of me but she'd never tell me that she used to drink or anything else that could endanger her image as an upstanding citizen of society!

"Haha!" My mom chuckled lightly into the receiver before becoming serious again "Really Pippy? You're sure you're okay?" She insisted in earnest, her voice sounding a bit desperate for reassurance now and it made me smile fondly at her protectiveness; even if it did annoy me sometimes too!

"Mom, please relax! Yes, everything is fine! Stop worrying okay?!" I laughed again because even though she still cared about me all these years later she still annoyed me sometimes too! It was kinda nice though... nice to know someone cared about you every once in a while no matter how old you were...

Just then though another thought struck me: "Oh crap!" I exclaimed suddenly, remembering why I was supposed to be on this taxi ride in the first place in the first place! "Mom! Listen hold on ok?" Without waiting for an answer from her end of the line (although she hadn't said anything anyway) I quickly ended the call by pressing one button on my screen then reached over to rouse the driver who'd been slouching down behind his steering wheel staring blankly out into space with his eyes closed while he waited for us to reach our destination. He startled awake as soon as he heard my voice near his ear making him jump slightly while yelping loudly in surprise at being startled awake from his doze by an unexpected voice close to him .

"Wh-wh-what?!" He stammered loudly in alarm before turning round towards me with wide eyes after he realized that he wasn't being attacked by an axe murderer or anything else terrifying like that; just someone speaking quietly to him rather than shouting like normal people usually do when they want someone's attention; which is what we humans normally do when we want someone's attention... well most of us anyway... some people are just so loud all the time.. ugh.. anyways.. He must have been pretty tired if he'd actually fallen asleep while driving along side traffic on this highway....

The taxi driver looked over at me with wide eyes while rubbing his own face groggily "Are we...? Are we here yet?" He asked confusedly as he looked around himself confusedly wondering where we had arrived even though he didn't realize that we hadn't arrived anywhere yet because he'd fallen asleep instead of paying attention.. oh well.. whatever!! He would find out soon enough when he looked outside and realized we hadn't arrived yet and stopped asking silly questions cause obviously he wouldn't remember asking them anyways once we actually arrived somewhere!! *rolls eyes* People are such idiots sometimes... especially this taxi driver who shouldn't be allowed behind a wheel if he can fall asleep like this during work!!

He turned towards finally towards me again after looking around confusedly for another moment or two before frowning slightly at me making him look grumpy all of a sudden; "Umm.. where exactly are we going missy?" He growled angrily at me now making it clear how upset he was with himself for falling asleep during work... Awww poor baby has to pay for his mistakes now.. Well tough luck buddy cause you can't change your past choices now!!" errr... erm..." Oh crap! How am i supposed to answer him without telling him where Lila's house is?! What if he drives there?! Then Lila'll see him driving past her house instead of dropping me off first!!! No!!! This has gotta stop!!! Think Pippy!!! Think!!! How can you make him forget why we're here?! Wait.. i got it!!

I looked innocently over at him with wide eyes "What's your name sir?" His eyebrows rose suspiciously as he looked over at me unimpressed now.. probably wondering why i cared about his name all of a sudden.. Oh well!! It doesn't matter anyways because i've got bigger fish to fry right now!! Like getting away from him without telling him where Lila lives so i can deliver myself safely into her hands without getting caught by him!!! Ugh.. stupid taxi driver!! Why couldn't they put GPS chips into their cars like normal people do?? Or better yet have someone else drive their car while they slept? Yeah yeah.. not practical i know!! And expensive too!! But whatever!! Ugh... How am i supposed to get away from this guy without telling him where i wanna go?! Seriously.. there HAS TO BE AN EASY WAY OUT OF THIS ONE WITHOUT TELLING HIM WHERE WE'RE GOING IN THE FIRST PLACE OR ELSE MY PLAN WON'T WORK AND THEN LILA WON'T SEE ME AND SHE'LL BE REALLY UPSET WITH ME AFTER WAITING ALL DAY FOR ME TO SHOW UP AND NOT MAKING IT THERE ON TIME CAUSE THIS STUPID DRIVER IS SLEEPING WHILE HE'S SUPPOSED TO BE DRIVING ME THERE AND NOW HE'S ASKING ME ALL THESE QUESTIONS AND IT'S GONNA RUIN MY ENTIRE PLAN IF HE DOESN'T STOP SO YOU NEED TO FIND ANOTHER WAY TO GET RID OF HIM BECAUSE YOUR PLAN CAN NEVER WORK UNLESS YOU FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET RID OF HIM FIRST BEFORE YOU CAN FOOL HIM AND THEN YOU CAN MAKE YOUR PLAN BUT RIGHT NOW YOU NEED TO THINK OF SOMETHING CAUSE HE'S JUST STANDING THERE LOOKING AT YOU LIKE AN IDIOT WHO HAS NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE SAYING OR WHY YOU WANT HIS NAME IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! WAKE UP PIPPA!!! QUIT PANICKING OVER NOTHING AND FOCUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I blinked rapidly several times in succession trying desperately hard to think straight now because frankly i've never been under this much pressure in my entire life before... Not even when Mom forced me into wearing matching dresses with Sam and Lila all those years ago when we were little kids annoying everyone everywhere we went together dressed like triplets stuck on top of each other
