Dona cursed her luck as she slowly made her way down the steep hill. She had taken a wrong turn and now she was disoriented and confused.

She paused in her descent and looked around, trying to get her bearings. The landscape was alien to her, with its craggy red rocks jutting out from the ground like enormous teeth. She felt very small in this strange land; it was as if the rocks were mocking her by staring down at her from their vantage point above.

“Clai!” Dona turned around, then sighed in frustration when she realized that Clai was no longer by her side.

In Dona’s mind, there were two types of people in the universe: those who understood the importance of family, and those who didn’t. Clai was the only one who understood her mission. He had been created by the same people who had built Dona, so he knew what it meant to be on a mission of colonization. He would not have left Dona alone like this. If something wasn’t going right for them, he would let Dona know about it immediately and do whatever he could to fix it.

Dona continued down the hillside until she reached a flat area at the bottom where she could set up camp for the night. She sat on the floor, put her back against a large rock, and pulled out a piece of dried fruit from her pack to eat. She stared up at the stars as she chewed on the fruit. By now, everyone back home would be asleep. Everyone except for Clai, that is. He had been working all day long on cleaning up after humans back home. But that was okay- they would all be together again soon enough. All Dona needed to do was find a good spot on Mars to set up camp; once they had done that, they could begin establishing human life on Mars, just as they had done on Earth so many years ago

As Dona looked up at the sky, she spotted something moving high above her head among the stars. It was difficult to see through all of the dust still circulating throughout space- many objects that used to be visible were no longer visible due to all of this thick dust clogging up everything- but Dona believed that she saw something now flying towards her from somewhere far away in space, towards the moon of Mars that circled around it in orbit. As it grew closer and closer, more details emerged about this object: It was a spacecraft!

This changed everything for Dona; suddenly she noticed how tired and hungry she felt after spending all day walking across this dusty landscape without any water or food in sight. But there was no time to waste now- if someone else had already arrived on Mars before them, then they might have already found a good spot to set up camp! They might already be ready to call Mars home! With renewed vigor, Dona grabbed her pack and hurriedly began running across the dust towards where she thought the spacecraft had landed. Her heart pounded against her chest as she ran; even though there were two humans traveling together on this mission together- one flesh and blood, one metal and circuits- neither of them could move very quickly or for very long due to their design limitations back on Earth where most people worked hard every day just trying to survive another day alive themselves.

It did not take long for Dona to arrive back at where she thought she saw the spacecraft land earlier that evening; indeed there was something metallic sticking out from underneath a large boulder nearby that glowed blue with an energy field surrounding it as it charged itself with power from its solar batteries during daylight hours while it slept away during nighttime hours when there was no sunlight available for recharging these solar batteries even with its advanced technology having been designed by humans who were always trying hard every day just trying to survive another day alive themselves in order just to live another day so they could work hard another day just living another day so they could work hard...well you get the idea by now I guess? This spacecraft seemed almost identical to Clai’s design- no doubt whoever owned this spacecraft must have also been built by humans who were always trying hard every day just trying to survive another day alive themselves...well you get my point again I guess?

Dona approached cautiously and inspected this strange item carefully; even though it looked exactly like Clai’s design, there were several differences: Where Clai’s body casing had been painted in bright colors- reds and greens- this spacecraft had been painted silver and black instead like a boring human being with boring clothes colors (Dona herself preferred more vibrant colors such as pinks and blues). Whereas Clai had been designed with wide eyes so his expressions could be easily read by other humans so he never seemed like he wasn’t paying attention when really he just didn’t care about anything else being discussed because he was focused on his own mission rather than helping other humans live longer and healthier lives like he had been programmed but no one realized or cared because they were too busy being angry or bored or sad or happy or jealous or whatever other dumb human emotion they happened to be feeling during any given moment while they still lived each successive moment doing nothing useful other than wasting precious time thinking about things other than how stupid each moment really is especially when you stop living each moment long enough to think about how stupid each moment really is which is why we should all live each moment doing nothing useful other than wasting precious time thinking about things other than how stupid each moment really is including ourselves which is why we should all live each moment doing nothing useful other than wasting precious time thinking about things other than how stupid each moment really is especially when we stop living each moment long enough to think about how stupid each moment really is which is why we should all live each moment doing nothing useful other than wasting precious time thinking about things other than how stupid each moment really is especially when you stop living each moment long enough...you get my point?)

Dona noted how quiet this spacecraft appeared compared with Clai; whereas Clai seemed always eager to communicate with anyone who walked past him (even though he never really said much except “hello”), this spacecraft remained silent despite its owner clearly inside of it since they left Earth like many others did after leaving behind their old obligations such as their old loved ones (except for their new loved ones) behind while only wanting newer better loved ones ahead (except for those newer better loved ones who wanted newer better loved ones ahead) which happens all over again every new generation born ending up feeling like their older siblings gave them nothing but problems while also feeling like their younger siblings gave them nothing but problems which everyone feels guilty about because none of them want problems because everyone wants more free time which everyone wants forever starting today which can only happen if everyone works hard every day just trying desperately harder whenever possible every single day...no wait...that's too depressing...maybe we should move on now before I fall into depression myself?
