The light dimmed.

The last ray of sun disappeared past the top of the hill as Dr. Urgo turned his gaze from his work and towards the horizon. A soft smile formed on his face as he appreciated the final moments of the day before he returned to his work.

He looked back down at the scroll in front of him. The image was hard to make out, but he could make out the figure of a man wearing some kind of robe, holding some kind of torch, standing in front of what looked like a temple or something equally grandiose. It was written in a language he did not recognize. He had been studying it for weeks now and could barely make out a couple letters here and there. Whenever he tried to translate anything, he found that he had just skipped over it multiple times already, because it made no sense whatsoever.

A sudden rustling sounded behind him and Urgo froze up immediately. When nothing followed, he relaxed again and turned around, rubbing his eyes tiredly while mumbling a "Go away". He continued to rub his eyes until they were completely dry and then looked up again.

"You really need to put that thing down every once in a while." Said Dr. Zeno as he walked into view with a cup of tea in one hand, pointedly referring to Urgo's magnifying glass which was currently sitting on the ground next to him and casting its own shadow on the scroll in front of him. Urgo smiled wryly and picked up his magnifying glass before putting it back on his belt where it belonged.

"It's hard to see this thing when it's so small." Replied Urgo, gesturing towards the scroll with an open palm. Zeno rolled his eyes playfully and handed Urgo the tea. Urgo took it gratefully and took a sip while Zeno sat down beside him on one of the many wooden crates they were using as furniture these days.

"How many more scrolls do you have left?" Asked Zeno after taking another sip from his own cup, looking over at the numerous crates stacked all around them waiting to be studied, most containing scrolls similar to the one Urgo was working on right now.

"About two-hundred more I think." Replied Urgo absentmindedly as he carefully brushed away some dust from one corner with an even more delicate brush than what he'd been using previously to examine the scroll in front of him earlier today. "Probably less by now though." He added after a moment's thought. "Some are probably unreadable."

Zeno looked over at several other crates piled up nearby containing some scrolls that were either either broken or completely covered in soot from when they had first been discovered inside underground catacombs where mobs used to spawn years ago before they were fully excavated and made safe for use again by archaeologists like Urgo himself and others who collaborated under him ever since he started this project years ago, including Zeno himself who had worked with him almost since day one when this project started back during their university days together as students when they'd first heard rumors about these catacombs beneath their very feet which had remained undiscovered all these years until someone finally started digging around down there recently looking for loot or something else equally stupid like that.
