Sophie and Rob's Forbidden Love

The first time I saw Sophie Knowles, she was walking up the corridor of York St John University. She was a senior, so this would be her first week of teaching practice and coursework.

I had my own reasons for being at York St John. My research on Roman pottery had led me to a PhD in archaeology at York. I had been here for a year and everything was going great. My supervisor gave me all the freedom in the world and I loved my life.

Yet there was something missing.

It was odd, because I never thought there was anything missing in the first place. As far as I knew, I had everything a person could possibly want: an amazing girlfriend, a great job, and a nice flat in the middle of town.

But one day, while I was sitting on my balcony with a beer, it hit me like a thunderbolt. Everything else seemed to disappear and all that remained was this overwhelming feeling that something was missing. It felt as if my whole life came crashing down around me, just like those crumbling walls from 2000 years ago that I studied every day. All those years of figuring out what went wrong and why people made such stupid decisions when building those ruins suddenly meant nothing to me anymore.

That's when she appeared at the end of the corridor between two other students who were talking excitedly about their upcoming courses with her. The light from above shone bright on her hair, which glowed golden blonde in that moment. She held a large backpack against her hip as if it weighed nothing and walked confidently towards them despite her terribly thick ankles and heavy thighs that wobbled under her dress like two giant watermelons connected by soft cushions filled with air. Her belly jiggled with each step she took and the fabric of her dress did little to hide it. Her arse looked like two pillows filled with cotton balls strapped together with suspenders over her massive hips while her arms formed two large wings as they dangled loosely at her sides.

I didn't know how long I stared at her before she noticed me staring at her backside while she talked to her friends, but she suddenly turned around to see where my eyes were focused on and right then my heart skipped a beat or two. Then she started waddling over to me without even looking away from my gaze for even an instant, as if she wanted to make sure that our eyes would meet full on before we ever spoke another word to each other.

When she got close enough, she smiled warmly at me - very warmly - and then put down her bag next to mine on the floor before taking off the sunglasses from her face with both hands and putting them into her pocket while still staring straight into my eyes with hers locked onto mine so intensely that I couldn't look away either now that she had caught me staring at what must have been one of the fattest women in Britain if not Europe.
