I looked up at the looming trees around me, bouncing off them with my eyes, trying to find the path that might lead me back to camp. I knew I had taken a wrong turn somewhere and now I was lost, looking for the signs that would guide me back home. Finally, after a few minutes of searching, I found something that I recognized: a tree whose branches made an L shape.
“I was here yesterday!” I exclaimed to myself, “Now I just need to turn left and run that way until I find something else that looks familiar…”
I began running down the path when suddenly, out of nowhere, a spear came flying towards me. It struck the ground right next to my feet and skidded across the dirt and mud. Just as quickly as it had appeared, it vanished into thin air.
“Who threw that?” I yelled out loud, “Show yourself or be prepared to face my wrath!”
A small group of men jumped out from behind the trees and bushes on both sides of the path. They were carrying spears, bows, and what looked like some very sharp knives. They wore muddy brown clothing and their hair was long and messy. Some of them were even missing teeth.
They began yelling at me in some strange language that sounded more like grunts than words. They pointed their weapons at me and then one of them charged forward. He was wielding a machete-like knife and he tried to slash at my neck with it but I ducked underneath his arm and elbowed him in his ribs. He stumbled backwards but eventually got back up again with more men coming to help him fight me off.
I went for the closest man who was brandishing a knife in his hands and punched him straight in the face with all my might, sending him tumbling backwards through the mud. In response, another man threw his spear at me but this time I managed to catch it with both hands before it could reach its target. The weapon seemed so heavy in my hands and I struggled to hold onto it but somehow it managed to stay in place despite how badly my arms were shaking. The men continued swinging their machetes and knives at me but none of them managed to make contact with my skin because every time they got close enough for their weapons to hit me, I stepped out of their reach before turning back around again with a smirk on my face. Suddenly one of them jumped out from behind a tree holding an axe above his head as he made his way towards me while screaming at his comrades in their native language. He began swinging the weapon wildly above his head but I saw the attack coming so easily dodged out of the way before taking him out with a quick jab right under his rib cage. His body crumpled into a heap on the floor as he fell over unconscious while gasping for breath by my feet. As soon as one man went down another took his place as they continued fighting me off until there were no more men left standing on either side of this battle field except for one particularly menacing man who stood tall against me despite having an arrow poking out between his ribs on one side and another arrow lodged deep inside one of his legs on another side which didn’t seem like it would stop him from continuing this fight if he really wanted to keep going anyway so I decided not to give him any more chances than he already had because if he tried anything stupid again then he would have no chance whatsoever of winning this battle against me so instead I threw away my shield which just seemed like too much weight for me to carry around anyway so then I continued fighting these idiots without any protection whatsoever now that they had managed to snatch away my favorite weapon away from me during our previous altercation which was none other than about four spears right now probably because they thought they could get away with attacking someone like me when she was unarmed but now they were paying for their mistake dearly because even though there were four spears headed towards me now at once they couldn’t hit me no thanks to my superhuman speed abilities which has allowed me to dodge attacks like these ever since birth because this is something that is genetically programmed into us Amazons or else we wouldn’t be able to survive in such hostile environments such as this one right here today where we are all alone surrounded by enemies who are determined to kill us off once and for all
