Haunted Explorers: The Unveiling of Magic

The moon shone bright, lighting the cobblestone path to the ancient Chateau. The four young friends walked along the stone walkway, with a bench between them and the Chateau.

"So what made you decide to do this?" asked Ephraim. "This is a seriously creepy place." He looked over his shoulder at the dark stain on the ground. From this distance, it could have been anything. "What's that? Blood?"

Lysander smirked. "No silly, it's red wine! This place looks like a haunted house from a horror movie."

Eleanor laughed. "You really are silly sometimes." She turned her eyes back to the Chateau and took a deep breath of fresh air. "But yes, we're here because there have been rumors about strange happenings here."

Ephraim smiled and put his arm around Eleanor's shoulder. "I knew it! I knew there was some sinister conspiracy happening here!" He looked back at Luc, who was standing behind him. "Isn't that right Luc?"

Luc shook his head with a smile on his face. He didn't turn to look at Ephraim and instead just kept staring at the Chateau with his hands in his pockets.

"Well," said Lysander, "we don't know if it's sinister or not yet, but we will find out tonight! Who wants to go first?"

Everyone looked around; each person wanted to be first to explore this alleged haunted castle.

Eleanor smiled and breathed in deeply again, staring at the beautiful view of the vineyards in front of them. Her mother had always told her about how much she loved France when she was younger, and Eleanor wanted to experience everything for herself instead of reading about it from books in school or watching movies about it. She wanted to feel what her mother felt when she was in France for herself; even if she had to break into an old chateau in order to do so!
