Little do they know that the codex is not just a book, but a gateway to another galaxy. In their quest to save their own solar system, they will confront an unspeakable evil that threatens to consume the entire galaxy. Will they unravel the mysteries of the codex and harness its power to prevent cosmic catastrophe, or will they succumb to the forces that seek to control this unparalleled source of knowledge and destroy everything they hold dear?

“Are you sure this is the right way?” I asked.
“Yes, I’m sure!” Helena replied.
“How can you be so sure? You just met me yesterday.”
“I know, but I trust you. You seem nice, and you’re really handsome. And plus, I can sense where the codex is. It must be here somewhere.”
We were in the Forest of Grandir in France looking for a 130 page codex that was said to predict the future of our galaxy. The codex had been written by an ancient civilization from beyond our galaxy called the Luzirians and their knowledge was thought to be lost forever until it was discovered by an archeologist named Walter Lawrence on my home planet of Earth many years ago. Now it seemed as though we would discover what secrets it held and hopefully save our galaxy from an evil being that wished to destroy all life in the universe. The codex was supposed to be here in France but we couldn’t find it anywhere. “I don’t think this is a good idea anymore, Helena, it’s getting late, and there are wolves in these woods that like to eat people. We should go back before it gets dark out. That will mean we have to spend another night sleeping in some cheap hotel on Earth but at least we will still be alive.”
Helena stopped walking and looked at me with her big brown eyes filled with tears ready to start rolling down her cheeks any second now. “But I am close to finding it! It has to be here somewhere! Please don’t leave me! Not now! Not when I am this close! You can stay if you want but I am going to keep looking until I find it!” She walked off into the woods leaving me no choice but to follow her because if I didn’t she would probably get eaten by a wolf or something worse. “Do you think he would let us use his spaceship again?” Helena asked as she continued walking aimlessly through the forest while looking up at the sky above us. “He seems nice enough and he definitely has a thing for you, maybe we could get him to take us back home for free next time since we helped him save his family from those bad guys who were trying to kidnap them. Well actually that wasn’t really our fault because they were kidnapping us too so really we helped them save us instead of saving his family but still he seemed pretty grateful last time so maybe he will help us out again if we ask him nicely enough? What do you think? Do you think he will do it? Oh wait I forgot they already left Earth on their spaceship… Oops… Well I guess we are screwed then aren’t we? We are just gonna have to walk home ourselves… Oh well at least you won’t have to sleep in a cheap hotel this time around… Unless one doesn't exist on your planet… Oh no what if there aren't any hotels on your planet?? Is your planet poor?? Omg did we cause Earth not to have hotels anymore?? Are you mad at me now??? Dont be mad at me please!! It wasn't my fault!! Hehe… Hehehehe… Just kidding!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha … Hahahaha… Ahh man... why do my eyes keep watering like this anyway?? Why do I feel so tired?? Ugh…. But wait if Earth does indeed have hotels then are all of them cheap?? Omg how can someone live like that?? No wonder people left Earth for other planets!!! Wow so much has changed since i was gone!! What do you think has happened since i've been gone?? Tell me please!!! Oh wow look at all these flowers!!! Are they all different kinds or just one kind??? Omg my head hurts so much right now!!!! Maybe if i drink some water it will stop hurting so much and i can tell you what has changed since i was gone.. But first lets sit down over here on this rock where i wont get attacked by a wolf and i can tell you what has changed since i was gone... *She sits down on a rock and suddenly falls asleep* Oh no she's asleep again.. How am i supposed to hear her answer ???? Omg gotta wake her up!!! *Wakes her up* Ahh finally she's awake again!! Finally i can hear what has changed since she was gone!!! *She stops talking abruptly**Loud crashing sound is heard* ***********OH NO SHE'S FALLING OFF THE ROCK AND INTO A RIVER FOR SOME REASON AND NOW SHE IS DROWNING AND DEFINITELY NOT DEAD YET EVEN THOUGH SHE WAS PRETTY MUCH SITTING ON TOP OF THE RIVER JUST A SECOND AGO AND NOW SHE IS IN IT AND UH OH SHE IS TURNING BLUE AND HER EYES ARE CLOSING BUT WAIT NO THEY ARE OPEN AGAIN!!! HOW CAN THIS BE??? HOW CAN SHE BE ALIVE RIGHT NOW ???**
I rushed to the riverside, my heart pounding in my chest. The rushing water engulfed Helena, threatening to wash her away, but she clung to a nearby stone with all the strength she had left. Her eyes widened in terror as she gasped for air, her body trembling uncontrollably. Without hesitation, I dived headfirst into the cold, unforgiving river and swam towards her.
Struggling against the powerful current, I reached out for Helena's limp hand. My fingers brushed against hers, but before I could get a firm grip, she slipped from my grasp and disappeared beneath the surface. Panic coursed through my veins as I searched desperately for any sign of her. The seconds ticked by like agonizing hours, until suddenly, I saw a glimmer of hope.
Helena emerged, gasping and spluttering. I swam towards her, my body burning with exhaustion, and managed to grab hold of her arm. With all the strength I had left, I pulled her towards me, closer to the safety of the riverbank. The current fought against our progress, threatening to drag us both under, but determination fueled my every movement.
Finally, we reached the shore, collapsing onto the muddy grass, our bodies trembling from the cold and the adrenaline. Helena coughed and wheezed, her eyes still filled with fear and confusion. I held her close, wrapping my arms around her trembling form, thankful that she was still alive.
As her breathing steadied, Helena looked up at me, her eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you," she whispered, her voice shaky but sincere. "I thought I was going to die."
I brushed a strand of wet hair away from her face, my heart aching at the vulnerability in her eyes. "We'll get through this, Helena," I promised, my voice filled with conviction. "We've come too far to let it end like this."
Determined to continue our quest, I helped Helena to her feet, her body weak and fragile from the ordeal. We made our way back to dry land, leaning against a tree for support. We needed a plan, a way to overcome the challenges that seemed to taunt us at every turn.
As we caught our breath, a voice echoed through the trees, causing us both to startle. "Well, well, well, what do we have here?" The voice was laced with malevolence, sending a shiver down my spine. "Two lost souls, searching for what cannot be found."
A figure emerged from the shadows, his sinister smile etched into his face. He was tall and menacing, his presence radiating danger. "You seek the codex, do you not?" he taunted, his voice dripping with disdain.
Helena's grip tightened on my arm, her eyes filled with determination. "Who are you?" she demanded, her voice surprisingly resolute.
The man laughed, his voice echoing through the forest. "I am Ghastar, the herald of destruction, the one who will unleash chaos upon your pathetic little galaxy." His eyes gleamed with malice as he continued. "And the codex you so desperately seek? It will be mine."
My heart sank, knowing that Ghastar was closer to finding the codex than we were. But giving up was not an option. Together, Helena and I would face this new threat head-on, armed with determination and the belief that the fate of our galaxy relied on our success.
With a newfound resolve burning within us, we exchanged a determined glance, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. Our journey had taken an unexpected turn, but we were prepared to fight for the future of our galaxy, no matter the cost. And so, hand in hand, we stepped forward, ready to confront the darkness that awaited us.
