The sun was high in the sky as Luna and Ven sat at the edge of a cliff, looking out over the endless cloud sea.

"Do you remember when we first met?" asked Luna.

Ven nodded, "Of course I do. I thought you were a monster, but then you told me your favorite color and I realized that we can be friends."

"I never would have guessed that our first meeting would change everything for us," said Luna. She looked down wistfully at her feet, "We've had so many adventures together since then. We've traveled to so many places."

"My favorite place was on that island with all the trees," said Ven. "I'm sorry that we had to leave it."

Luna smiled, "It's okay. We can go back there whenever we want now." She pointed at the small object lying on the grass between them, "We have magic now."

The both stared down at their magical item - a stone orb with intricate patterns etched into its surface. It glowed faintly in their hands as they held it close to their chests and closed their eyes. When they opened their eyes again, they were back on the island with all the trees - just as they remembered it. The warm sun beat down on them and they could feel the breeze blow through their hair and clothes as if nothing had changed in all the years since they'd been young children - back when this place had been real rather than a memory.

"Worked perfectly," said Luna as she pulled her dress away from her skin to let the air cool her off a bit before sitting down next to Ven in the shade near one of the giant trees. The two of them leaned against each other and laughed happily for a while before an awkward silence fell between them that neither of them knew how to break without disturbing the peace of their paradise. After what felt like ages of fidgeting and staring off into space nervously, Ven finally spoke up.

"You know... I've always wondered what happened next," he said, unsure of where he was going with his question.

"What do you mean? Of course we're here together right now," replied Luna quickly. "That's exactly where I wanted to go."

"No no no no no no no no," said Ven hastily, waving his hands in front of his face while shaking his head vigorously, "That's not what I mean! What I mean is... what happens after this? You know... after this life?" He gestured all around him at their idyllic surroundings and smiled sheepishly at Luna as if hoping for an answer she didn't have to think about too hard before giving it to him.
