It was a beautiful day, the sky was blue, the sun was shining but it just wasn’t right. The birds weren’t singing, the trees weren’t swaying in the wind, it was dead silent and it made me uneasy. If I could be honest with myself I would say that I have always been afraid of the dark and this forest is as dark as dark can be. But no, it was too early to give in, we’ve been walking for hours and my feet are killing me but I wont let Dylan see me limp or fall behind him. He keeps telling me to stay close to him but I figure if he can walk this far without stopping then so can I. Besides he promised on his mothers grave that he would take me back home and he must do what he says he will do.

I look up at Dylan and he seems like he is in another world, his eyes darting from side to side looking at every nook and cranny of these gigantic trees around us. “You know why they call them jungle trees? Cause they eat people like us!”, Dylan shouts out at the top of his voice ready to fight whatever was going to sneak up on us. At first all you hear is a loud roar coming from the top of one of those trees and before you know it something falls down onto us. It looked like some kind of monster but it just landed on its face and looks like it broke its neck or something. “It moved!” Dylan yells so loud making me jump from behind him. Before long another one falls down and this one started moving around a lot faster than the other one did. “FUCK! RUN!” Dylan shouts again as we start running deeper into the jungle with two of those things chasing after us. We were running so fast through these trees when Dylan slipped on some mud and fell straight down onto his back while landing face first into some bushes sticking out of the ground. These things had stopped their relentless pursuit of us and started sniffing around Dylan lying on the ground. I took my chances and ran away as fast as I could while hoping that they wouldn’t catch me too.

I kept running until I couldn’t anymore because I couldn’t see anything in front of me anymore, everything was pitch black and there were no sounds around me either. What if they caught up to me? What if they found me? What did I do? Did I run forward or backwards? Did I turn left or right? Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck! Suddenly a hand grabs hold of my arm making me scream so loud that my own ears hurt from how loud it was; “Ssshhh.. Ssshh* your gonna get us killed!” Again Dylan shouting in my ear like he does when we are hiding from someone who wants to kill us for money or beliefs or whatever stupid reasons people have for wanting to kill each other nowadays.. Whatever happened to peace between nations? Nowadays every nation fights against each other over small misunderstandings which could be solved if people simply talked instead of fighting; a perfect example being our entire situation right now where we are lost inside an evil jungle filled with monsters wanting to rip out our guts while eating them raw! Ughh..

We continued walking through this eerie darkness not knowing where we were going until suddenly light started shining through some openings between some trees ahead of us in a distance making us both jump up with excitement yelling out loud “WE MADE IT!! FOR REAL WE DID IT!!! YAY!!! YAY!! YAY!! YAY YAY YAYYYY!!!” We both ran towards those bright openings rushing through them towards freedom only to find ourselves standing on the edge of a cliff looking down below at what looked like some sort of village with lots of lights everywhere making it look beautiful from up here even though it scared us both even more because we didn’t want to end up falling off this cliff by accident after escaping those monsters by luck alone.. Jesus christ what were these monsters anyway? They looked like gorillas only way bigger than normal gorillas, gorilla sized teeth hanging from their mouths with saliva dripping from their lips onto whatever dirt they stood on making that slobbery sound whenever they moved their heads.. No wonder why people don’t talk about them because no one knows where they live except for those who foolishly go into this jungle without ever leaving it again once they enter.. After a long rest we finally gathered enough courage to walk across this cliff while trying not to look down any further than necessary while luckily reaching the other side safely without hurting ourselves along the way..

We walked towards those gorgeous lights while looking around at what seemed like a village where everyone lived together unlike back home where everyone lives by themselves except for family members living together but who knows maybe back home might look like this in another 100 years or so when we finally meet back up again after all these years.. Man it felt good just thinking about that hope that maybe someday the world can be at peace instead of trying to conquer each other over stupid reasons.. In case you haven't noticed yet Dylan isn't human anymore because he has been poisoned by fear, fear so deep inside him that even his mother couldn't reach him anymore, fear that comes from nowhere while he feels betrayed by everyone around him especially by himself time after time after time after time after time after time after time after time... It has been 34 days now since we left our home town walking away from all those people shooting at us praising our death but thank god we escaped alive despite getting shot multiple times along the way; every bullet hitting him in different places on his body but somehow healing itself before our very eyes every single time until eventually there was nothing left for anyone else but death itself.. His wounds began healing themselves faster than usual which made him think he might have gained some magical powers but soon realized that he was still wounded somewhere under all that blood oozing out from underneath his clothes only letting out little spurts from time to time.. But still no matter how much blood came out of his body every day none seemed to be able to escape nor die making him think about death less often these past few days which gave us hope that maybe somehow we will make our way back home as soon as possible without losing hope once again.. After walking so far through this dense forest we are finally standing here now watching all these normal humans walking around enjoying their lives while not knowing what lies ahead for them because who knows if tomorrow will be their last day alive before dying miserably without ever knowing why exactly they died but at least having fun doing whatever silly thing they wanted to do today before kicking the bucket because life is not worth living when you don't live it yourself anymore..
