 A couple weeks ago, I was hanging out with my girlfriend at a party. We were just getting drunk and having a good time when she turned to me and said "You're cute, you know that right?". It was a forlorn road, one that had not seen much traffic in years. The land around them was desolate and empty. 

They walked forward slowly, trying to conserve their energy. 

This was the third day since they left the village of Bolead. They had traveled a good distance, but at the rate they were going, they would need another three days to reach the city. They needed to find a place to rest and replenish their supplies, or else they would run out of food. Anord suggested that they hunt for some game, but Eam wanted them to save their resources until they reached Eth. She couldn’t shake away her fear that this trip may end in failure, which made her feel hesitant about using up their supplies - even if it meant starving on the way there. Anord agreed with her on that matter, though he hated seeing Eam be so pessimistic about their mission. He knew she would be happier if she ate more; she looked too skinny and tired these days.

Eam stopped walking when she saw something up ahead. It was a large structure of some sort, leaning against the side of a small hill. As she walked closer, she realized that it was an old wooden cabin buried in overgrowth of grass and weeds. She could see a small window on one side of the building and a slightly larger window on the other side; both windows were covered by wood planks instead of glass panes. 

“Anord! Look! There’s a house!” Eam called out as she ran towards the cabin. She grabbed onto the rusted handle and pulled with all her strength, but nothing happened. “It won’t open!” Eam screamed in frustration as she ran back to where Anord had been waiting behind her, panting from running so fast without taking a deep breath beforehand. Anord walked over to where Eam stood and inspected the door himself before looking down towards the ground around it. “I think someone has blocked it up with stones...” Anord observed after he picked up a nearby rock and dropped it near the entrance again, listening for any sounds that may indicate whether or not anyone was inside. “Can you lift me up? I want to see if there is anything on top of this thing we can use...” Anord said as he turned toward Eam with his arms raised high above his head. She quickly lifted him up so he could reach one of the small windows on top of the cabin and got down again when he signaled her that everything was okay from what he could see from inside through the cracks between the planks covering its surface. “There’s an old bed up here... maybe we can sleep there tonight? And maybe even eat our food without having to worry about animals taking it?” Anord suggested as he jumped down from the cabin and walked around it to see if there were any other ways in besides through its front door - which looked like it hadn’t been used for years anyway - or through its roof window anymore than what he just did. “Let’s check inside first... I don’t want to take any risks... Who knows what kind of people might have lived here? I don’t want us to wake up dead because we didn’t do enough checks first... We have no idea how long ago this place was abandoned... We can look around when we are safe inside! If this place is safe enough then we will stay here tonight! If not then we keep moving forward until we find somewhere else... What do you think? Does this sound reasonable enough?” Eam asked curiously while looking at Anord who was already poking his head inside through one of the windows to get a better view of what was inside without attracting any unwanted attention from whatever might be lurking inside without them knowing about it yet – like snakes or mice perhaps? “Yes... This sounds reasonable enough indeed! When you say inside though, do you mean into this room or upstairs? You can see quite well from here but I can only see two rooms downstairs plus something underneath those stairs over there! So I don’t know how many rooms there might be upstairs... Do you want me to go and look upstairs too? Or should I just wait for your approval before going anywhere further than this room? What do you think? Should I go upstairs too or not? Do you want me to get down now so you can decide what we are doing next before we lose any more time than necessary? Let me ask again: Do you want me to get off this window now or not? Is it now okay for me to get down or not yet? What is your answer my lady!? Decide already!!” Anord spoke nervously while looking at Eam who seemed lost in thought while staring blankly at him while chewing on her lower lip and playing with her hair absentmindedly with one hand - which made him wonder even more why she didn’t seem hungry enough these days... 	I woke up early the next morning without an alarm clock ringing at me like usual. Somehow this time though, I just knew something bad would happen today like yesterday when i went into town with dad for groceries after work instead of staying home with mom like usually does on days mom works late at the office. When we got home from shopping though and opened up the car trunk with all our bags inside, dad's face turned pale as he realized that someone broke into our house last night while we were gone shopping...and stole his gun collection along with some other valuables he had hidden inside his locked bedroom closet! He told me to stay inside the car while he went inside to check things out while he called 911 on his cell phone so they could send cops over immediately. 

I stayed sitting inside the car listening closely for any sounds of distress coming from inside our house while i watched dad step onto our front porch with his cellphone in hand talking quickly into it before hanging up and calling 911 again while i heard him yelling loudly telling whoever might be inside our house right now that if they came out peacefully now with their hands up high in surrender then nobody else would get hurt or killed today! He must have heard or seen something alarming or threatening from whatever direction he was looking from because seconds later he disappeared from view entirely! A loud crash followed by several gunshots rang out loudly from inside our house moments later! Dad screamed "NO!" loudly three times before he started shooting his gun wildly at whatever made that noise! Moments later five police officers ran out of our house carrying long black rifles aimed towards our garage door aiming at whatever they thought was hiding back there somewhere! They yelled loudly to whoever might still be hiding or living inside our home to "Drop your weapons now!" three times before they shot at least two dozen bullets into our garage door walls making huge holes on both sides of where they might think someone might be hiding behind! 

Dad came outside then holding his head under one arm while wearing just a pair of his underwear only looking surprised rather than scared himself at what just happened here! He said over half of his gun collection is gone along with all his valuables plus some other stuff missing too! One cop pointed a rifle at him yelling angrily demanding who did this? Dad kept saying nobody else lived here except for him plus mom working late at her office tonight so nobody else could have done this except maybe some burglars who robbed him while he was out shopping last night! Nobody believed him though as another cop walked over to him asking where all these bullet holes came from? Dad said those are from when he shot at burglars trying to break into his bedroom closet last night thinking they might leave fingerprints on some clues behind figuring out who did this afterwards but now even more burglars came inside instead taking all his stuff plus stealing more guns too! Dad kept saying how he couldn't believe this is happening right now not wanting anyone dead after already losing most of his valuable belongings plus guns stolen away by criminals too! He kept repeating how badly this has ruined everyone's lives today especially mine too after seeing how bad this has gotten as best friends or neighbors will find out about this news pretty quickly once word gets out about what happened here today because even he can tell that's going to happen for sure when news stations arrive here within minutes once word about this gets out! The cops yelled angrily demanding where those burglars are hiding anyway knowing damn well there must be more than one involved doing all this damage just like dad said before getting arrested himself by them because nobody thinks differently after watching all that evidence showing up proving otherwise plus hearing everything dad said about how those criminals could still be hiding somewhere inside here right now planning their escape even more carefully after realizing how much trouble they've caused together causing more chaos and mayhem before getting caught leaving behind behind enough clues allowing police dogs sniffing every inch of wherever they hide searching every inch outside here too anywhere close by including areas far beyond that too underneath town limits outside city limits too wherever they can run towards escaping police helicopters hunting them down towards states away because who knows what they might do next once having gotten away from here so far away probably laughing right now knowing how easy it was all done in broad daylight surprising everybody involved including police themselves too!

Thalassa reached out and touched them one by one, feeling their weight in her hands. They looked ancient, like they had been forged centuries ago, but they were still sharp as ever. She was about to ask her grandfather about them when he stopped her. 

"Before I tell you why I've kept these from you, I must warn you first," he said solemnly. "These swords were magical and dangerous. There were two of them: a golden sword named Sunlight, and a silver sword named Moonlight. They were created hundreds of years ago by a powerful mage known only as The Shining One. He gave these swords to my ancestors for safekeeping because he knew that even though they possessed great powers, they were equally dangerous." 

"You mean these swords can hurt people?" Thalassa asked, looking up at him with fear in her eyes. She slowly put the swords back into their box and closed it shut again with trembling fingers. "I don't want them anymore... I don't want any part of this..." 

"No! You misunderstand me!" the old man said quickly. "These swords cannot hurt anyone or anything unless you will it yourself with your mind! You must understand that while they possess great powers - far greater than our own - they can only be wielded by someone who has been chosen by fate." 

"What? Chosen by fate?" Thalassa's eyes widened in shock and confusion as she stared at him in disbelief. "But how? Who in our family has ever been chosen by fate?" 

"That is exactly my point," the old man said heavily as he leaned against his desk and sighed heavily with exhaustion. "I wanted to keep this from you because I feared for your safety... But since everything has happened... It is better if you know now." He took a deep breath before continuing on hoarsely: "Your mother was never meant to wield those swords..." His voice trailed off sadly before he continued on resolutely: "...And neither are you..."

Along the way, they bond together, building strong friendships and gradually learning more about themselves in the process. Despite suffering some setbacks, their determination keeps them going. In the end, the cats ultimately make it through, finding strength through one another and returning home feeling content and fulfilled with their journey.

 The morning winds of the early sun,

The last of us left there. 

We climbed upon our paws and we headed for home. 

Home is where the heart is.


The miles were endless. 

Our hunger was unbearable. 

The days were cold and the nights even colder. 

We fought with all our might, 
for you, ...for our home, ..for our family. 


We had no choice but to scale that mountain.  
What a view! The valley was peaceful and green!  
Our hearts leapt with joy, we had made it!
