Leela Jagreet and the Magical Stars
·
Published 5/27/2023Regal and undaunted, Queen Leela Jagreet of the exotic kingdom of Trikitar boldly sets out on an irreverent adventure to wrangle magical stars and their strange powers, facing gross misadventures and hilarious mayhem on her quest in a cosmic battle of wits that will unlock secrets of her kingdom and the true complexities of her people.

The Seventh Star
The seventh star shone bright in the night sky. It was the brightest of all the stars, and it was bigger than all the other stars. The seventh star was special, for it had magical powers. Everyone knew this, but no one knew what these powers were. They simply sat there and admired the star’s beauty.
One day, a star fell from the sky and landed on a small green planet called Trikitar. The men of Trikitar got together to create a palace for the star. They built a magnificent palace with golden walls and polished floors, which they adorned with all sorts of treasures from around their world. The star was shocked by their generosity, and he decided to shine as brightly as he could for them. A great friendship blossomed between the star and those who gave him a home.
However, there were some who were jealous of the star’s great power. They saw how much love and respect he received from the people of Trikitar, while they felt forgotten themselves. These were not nice people, and they decided to take away his powers so that everyone would forget about him and love them instead. So one day, when everyone was out having fun at a festival, they snuck into his home and stole his beautiful red robe which held his magical talents within it. Without his robe, the star couldn’t do anything special anymore! He felt like he wasn’t any different than any of the other stars in the night sky and began to cry hopelessly into his pillow at night.
Meanwhile, back on Earth...
Queen Leela Jagreet was bored of her royal life at court in her exotic kingdom on another planet named Trikitar. There was nothing else to do except to be bored all day long unless she went hunting for another treasure or went shopping in her many photo-shoots! But today she got an idea! She looked up at her beautiful hair-dresser and said: ‘Has anyone ever told you that you look like a space princess?’ Her hair-dresser smiled politely before replying: ‘No my Queen! I am just an ordinary girl who finds herself stuck here in your court because I have nowhere else to go! My mother passed away years ago when I was young, leaving me with no one except my father who is busy working all day long doing general things like... um... errr... ummm...’ Queen Leela interrupted her hairdresser mid-sentence: ‘You don’t have a dad then? What about your mum?’ The hair-dresser replied: ‘My mother looks after our family farm outside of town where we grow vegetables and fruits that are sold on our local market every Friday morning! Our village is called Hartsdale where we also produce milk that we sell on our local milk platform every Tuesday morning! It is very peaceful there, I wish I could escape from this place sometimes too!’ The queen interrupted her again: ‘Why don’t you just leave? You don’t belong here anyway! You should be free to be yourself! You don’t need anybody else to tell you how to live your life! Why can’t you be more like ME? I am amazing you know? Have you seen my hair-dresser? She has done an amazing job with my hair today haven’t you dear? It is SO big isn’t it? Like mine?! Can you even imagine how much time it takes for me to get ready every day? And these nails? How do YOU keep yours so perfect without breaking them all over the place? Maybe if you tried harder then maybe you could look like me too? Are you listening dear!? I think we need a break from each other today because your envy is making ME feel bad! Nonsense! You make me feel bad with your negativity dear! Hmph!! Stop looking at me with those eyes!! It makes me feel like killing someone!! I hate you!! But I LOVE YOU!!! Ohhh dear why can’t we get along like this!! *smoochie lips* ... ‘
And so it went on like this every single day until finally one day her courtiers had had enough of her selfishness and threw her into jail behind 7 locked doors where she was forced to sit down on top of a pile of dirty sheets all day long staring out through her cell window at the beautiful blue sky wishing she could be anywhere but there... anywhere but there... anywhere but there... anywhere but there... anywhere but there... anywhere but there... anywhere but there... anywhere but there... anywhere but there... anywhere but there....
