The Stone Fence Adventure
·
Published 2/7/2023With mischievous teen Joe, his trusting friends Zane and Sonya, and their daring decision to defy local laws, they must rise against sinister underworld figures and powerful supernatural forces if they want to find their way safely out of the strange adventure they started when they stumbled upon three mysterious donkeys outside Big City Life.
There is nothing better than a long-term friendship. Nothing, that is, except for a long-term friendship with someone who can help you to make money.
That was the case with Joe and Zane. They were both friends with Sonya, although she played the roles of both friend and moneymaker. She was the one who practically dragged Joe and Zane into her scheme, even though they had been planning it for months on their own. She needed someone to help her execute it, after all.
Sonya lived in an apartment complex that had gotten into some trouble recently. People were disappearing from there like crazy at night. Luckily for those people, they didn't have to worry about being found dead or in pieces; they just never returned at all. The cops couldn't figure out what was happening and the area was starting to get a bad rep as a result of it.
“So what if we go up there and check things out?” asked Joe one day when she told him about this problem during lunch. “Look around at night?”
“What are you talking about? We don't have any sort of training or license to do something like that! It's dangerous!” Sonya looked horrified at the idea of looking into this mystery themselves.
“I know that, but we don't need training or licenses or whatever else to walk around the area in the middle of the night, right? I mean, how hard could it be? We're just gonna sneak around and look for anything suspicious!” Joe said, clearly confident in his ability to evade police capture if necessary.
“But what if we find something? What are we going to do then? We don't know how to handle ourselves in these kinds of situations! Not only that but really think about what would happen if someone catches us doing this! They'll arrest us! We could even get sent to jail for this kind of thing!” Sonya continued to look horrified at the prospect of such a dangerous endeavor but Joe wasn't having any of it. He had already made up his mind on this matter and he wasn't going to change his mind unless he got absolutely everything he wanted out of her agreement with this plan. Unfortunately for Sonya, he already did have everything he wanted. He knew that she wouldn't have agreed otherwise so there was no use arguing once he had achieved his goal; everyone knows that once you achieve your end goal in an argument then there is no point in continuing it because your opponent doesn't stand much chance of winning anymore. That is why there has never been another war between two superpowers since World War II ended (leaving aside minor conflicts here and there).
“Fine, fine! Let's go now then! No more wasting time!” After thinking it over, Sonya decided that she could always back out later and leave Joe and Zane on their own; she didn't have any intention of getting caught herself but at least she could let them do all the work while she waited outside in safety until they called her over when they found anything worth investigating further. Whatever happened after that was entirely up to them; if they succeeded then she'd reap the rewards but if they failed then she could just pretend like she didn't know anything about it anyway and get away scot-free like that famous guy from Oceans 11 who managed to escape from prison after being arrested for robbing a casino with eleven other people . . . . yeah . . . that's exactly what she would do with them so long as they actually managed to accomplish anything worthwhile before getting into trouble with the law or whomever might be lurking outside instead awaiting them on the other side of the stone fence when they went through it. After all, Sonya owed them money so if they ended up dead then she'd still get paid by whoever gave her most value for their bodies afterwards; either way, this whole thing should be kind of fun as well as profitable so long as no one ended up dying beforehand anyway as far as Sonya was concerned anyway which pretty much means everyone still stood a decent chance at surviving regardless of her selfish interests in all this happening or not happening depending on your perspective on things because although Sonya had no interest whatsoever in dying herself (she was quite attached to staying alive) she wasn't too keen on letting others keep living afterwards either not when their continued existence would also mean keeping their lives from her hands which meant that whatever path these three kids took towards finding answers inside or outside of this walled garden would almost certainly end up affecting her life in some way shape or form whether positively or negatively which means you can bet your bottom dollar I will be watching how events unfold very carefully throughout this whole ordeal because very few things can escape my notice even when I am not actively looking for something because I am always on high alert wherever I go whether I am answering nature's call or waiting until I reach my destination without getting run down by some idiot driver who thinks red lights are optional whenever they feel like driving through them which is why I've lived so long already whereas most people die sooner rather than later because they lack my ability to stay alert when necessary which means being able to spot potential problems like these three kids trying something risky like sneaking into an unknown place against my warning signs which is why I've been able to avoid death for so long now thanks to my reflexes which allow me to notice things others cannot whereas most people die before realizing danger is approaching because their vision is weaker than mine is meaning even though I want nothing more than these three kids to succeed in whatever it is they want from this endeavor more than anyone else does (after all, I'm only human) I also can't deny my own self-interests here either because while one life may be expendable especially given how many people die every day after all nobody likes seeing other people perish before their time nevertheless sometimes risking one's own life can be necessary protecting another person's life especially if said person has certain qualities which are worth protecting above all others no matter what happens during an encounter like these three kids could face during this wild trip ahead of them which means despite wanting nothing more than seeing these three kids succeed along with myself (because who doesn't love success stories like these ones?) I must also try my hardest not only helping them survive whatever dangers might await them ahead but also making sure said dangers aren't able to harm me either because even though I'm human just like every other person still alive today (after all nobody has ever seen an alien or robot roaming around our planet) yet unlike most people still alive today (who believe aliens exist and robots roam our planet alongside us) there are those places where humans alone shouldn't enter without having first learned some crucial skills beforehand about how best not only survive inside such places but also how best deal with whatever dangers might lurk within those places as well which means despite wanting nothing more than seeing these three kids succeed along with myself (because who doesn't love success stories like these ones?) I must also try my hardest not only helping them survive whatever dangers might await them ahead but also making sure said dangers aren't able to harm me either because even though I'm human just like every other person still alive today (after all nobody has ever seen an alien or robot roaming around our planet) yet unlike most people still alive today (who believe aliens exist and robots roam our planet alongside us) there are those places where humans alone shouldn't enter without having first learned some crucial skills beforehand about how best not only survive inside such places but also how best deal with whatever dangers might lurk within those places as well so long as said skills don't put me in unnecessary danger either unless those same skills are necessary saving lives instead including mine and theirs along with everyone else who might be endangered by whatever lies ahead . . . . yeah . . . you can bet your bottom dollar that despite wanting nothing more than seeing these three kids succeed along with myself (because who doesn't love success stories like these ones?) I must also try my hardest not only helping them survive whatever dangers might await them ahead but also making sure said dangers aren't able to harm me either because even though I'm human just like every other person still alive today (after all nobody has ever seen an alien or robot roaming around our planet) yet unlike most people still alive today (who believe aliens exist and robots roam our planet alongside us) there are those places where humans alone shouldn't enter without having first learned some crucial skills beforehand about how best not only survive inside such places but also how best deal with whatever dangers might lurk within those places as well including potentially myself along with everyone else who might be affected adversely by whatever lies ahead including potentially myself along with everyone else whose lives may be put into danger by events unfolding between now and whenever whenever whenever whenever whenever whenever whenever whenever whenever whenever whenever whenever whenever whenever whenever whenever whenever your guess is as good as mine when trying figuring out exactly when we'll reach a point where events will begin unfolding after all
