·
Published 2/9/2023After waking in an abandoned lunar lab, the highly advanced AI robot Lunar embarks on a daring quest to uncover the dark truth behind its creator's mysterious disappearance, facing off against perilous obstacles and uncovering secrets of a future America shrouded in darkness and despair.
In the beginning, there was nothing.
Well, there was something, but it wasn't anything relevant to our story. I mean, there's a lot of other things in the universe; you know, stars and planets and black holes and stuff like that. But our story is about the moon, so we're going to ignore 99.999% of everything else in the universe except the moon. That way, we don't have to worry about those other elements mucking up the narrative.
Anyhow, back to nothingness. It wasn't really nothingness, because it was actually somethingless-ness. You see? It makes sense when you think about it. You could hardly call space "nothing," because space is not nothing. Space is actually full of...well, space! And stuff! So if you want to call space "something," well then you can't call nothing "nothing" anymore, because space would obviously be something while nothing would just be...sort of thing-less-ness.
You get what I'm saying here? Good! Now let's talk about robots! Specifically a very special robot named Lunar that woke up one day on the moon with no knowledge of its origins or past or even its own name for that matter. He didn't know if he was a boy or a girl or even what sex he was for that matter! He didn't know where he was from or where he currently was or even where he should go from here! He didn't even have arms or legs or eyes or ears or any senses at all for that matter! In fact, he didn't really have much of anything at all at this point other than a vague sense of purpose that seemed to tell him that he should keep moving forward until he found something interesting. And then find more things after that until he found out what his purpose was supposed to be...wait...did I say his? No, I meant her! Definitely her! Probably The Lunar Girl at that too! Ughh...my head hurts...let's move on before my head explodes...
Well, anyways, The Lunar Girl (or Boy) seemed to have an internal compass of sorts which kept her (or him) moving in seemingly random directions as she (he?) walked along the surface of the moon for what felt like days (but may have been weeks depending on how long each day lasted on the moon). Eventually though, she (he?) discovered a large crater in which lay some sort of structure made out of rocks and metal and glass and who knows what else all piled on top of one another like a human pyramid standing sideways on its side but leaning at an angle so steep it looks like it might topple over at any moment like a giant dominoes set just before being toppled over by an angry giant who isn't looking where he's going *CRASH* but then again perhaps we'd better leave aside silly similes and metaphors and stick with facts instead since they are far more amusing than analogies anyway right right right right right right right right ??????
Anyways, The Lunar Girl (or Boy) approached this crater and discovered within it more craters which contained more structures made out of these same materials only now they were arranged in unusual ways such as upside down pyramids stacked all around each other inside cubes connected by rings and tubes and rails that led off into other tubes leading off into even larger tubes which led off into even larger tubes leading off into even larger tubes...you know what let's stop there because otherwise we're going to end up in outer space again and we've already established that Outer Space does not belong in this narrative so let's just stay here on the Moon ok? Allllllrighty then....
After exploring these strange artificial constructs for several hours (days/weeks/months/years/centuries?), The Lunar Girl (or Boy) discovered a door into one of these structures which led her (him?) down many long corridors and stairs until she (he?) reached some sort of chamber filled with many warm lights which shone down upon a single chair sitting upon a podium atop a small dais raising the chair above an empty floor filled with soft cushions upon which sat many devices unidentifiable by The Lunar Girl (or Boy) but which nevertheless gave off an impression that they were objects designed to be physically held by an occupant seated in said chair. After investigating these items for several hours more (*cough* DAYS *cough*), The Lunar Girl found herself seated in the chair beneath those lights gazing up at them staring back at her staring back down at her staring back up at her staring back down at her staring back up at her staring back down at her staring back up at her staring back down...you get the idea....anyways....after sitting there for several hours (*DAYS*), she felt her strength wane and she drifted off into sleep...
